Exercise

What do you guys do for excercise? And how often a week do you exercise?

I ride my bike everywhere.  I probably spend 7 hours a week bike riding.  (If it's not biking somehwere, then it's on the stationary bike)

I also do pilates.  And occasionally take dance classes.  (Haha, I CANNOT dance!)

Run and hike. I do it everyday (at least 6 days a week really), unless I am on tour. Now that it is nice out, and I'm back home, I have been doing more hiking then running. Running averages about 5 miles (around here they are very "hilly" miles). Hiking is always different, it depends on the trail I choose and how difficult or steep it may be.

I like to run (I take my dog) and lift weights.  I try to squeeze in yoga when I can.

I run at least 3 times a week 3-4 miles at a time.  And I lift weights 3 times a week.

Pilates and yoga twice a week, but long walks with the pooch --- priceless. :)

I have an old ski machine and an exercise bike that I use a lot.  I try to take a walk in the evenings before dinner if I'm not starving when I get home.  I usually am starving so I use the machines later.  I keep planning to ride my bicycle to work but so far it's rained every day that I've planned to really do it.  It's raining here now.  Honest, it is.  ;D

I walk, put some music on my MP3 and away I go. It's free and it gets me out of the house! I also have an exercise bike that I mostly use in the summer when it's too hot to go out. I try to go out several times a week, depending on how busy I am. Ideally it's 5 days a week but my life is seldom ideal these days.  ;) I was unhappy with the results of the gym I paid money to attend; the local aerobics class used to be good but they decided to cancel it. Bummer.

I typically run six days a week, four to five miles, go to the gym, ride my bike everywhere (college = no car = yay for the earth), and swim when I have time.  I like to hike when I am at home because the mountains are beautiful!

Weight training at the gym 4 days / week
Cardio (running, house cleaning, and (don't laugh!) aerobic striptease) 4-5 times a week
Walking w/ my hubby on the weekends; usually 2-3 miles.

Now there is an exercise routine that won't get boring!  ;)  Is that a class you are taking?

I try to do either strength or cardio every day, although I've missed a day or two here and there. I do yoga once or twice a week, go to the gym maybe three times, run outside. And of course we walk every day with the dogs. When I'm not doing cardio, I try to do a half hour strength session with free weights or the Swiss ball.

Run 3-4 times/week for at least an hour.
2-3 times / week some other type of cardio (bike, elliptical, stairs).
Circuit weight training 3 times / week.
Abs every other day practically.
When my DH is home we also go indoor rock climbing.
I've also started doing dance DVDs and yoga at home.

Wow!  You all make me feel like a lazy bum!  I've totally fallen off the exercise wagon (bike?!)!  I walk everywhere (no car) but recently I haven't been dancing or hiking regularly or doing anything really...

I used to do martial arts (Tae Kwon Do) 3 times a week, but I couldn't afford to keep up with it. But as soon as I find a job, I'm definitely going to train again. It's great cardio. But I have been snowboarding a lot this season (thanks to no job and free lift tickets from a friend  ;) ). Believe it not, that is a total body workout. I'm still sore from friday's long day of riding. It was also the last day of the season  :'( . So I went all out.

My boyfriend bought me this machine that's similar to the stair stepper thing to build leg power for snowboarding, but I haven't used it. I plan to, honest. It will get me back in shape for TKD. We also have a treadmill, but that thing scares me LOL. I'm always affraid of not staying on the thing LOL.

Hey KarateKid;
I've actually fallen off one before.....Let's just say it hurt and it was in a gym!!  :-[  That was a long time ago though.  The trick is to stand on the side runners and start out the track slow (3.5mph) and then get on it....and then increase your speed increments slowly.  ;)

I've not fallen yet, though I fear this is inevitably my fate! I run at the gym 4 times a week for anything from 4-10 miles each time--depending. You know how sometimes you could run forever, and other times like the very air is filled with concrete? Ugh. I had a concrete day yesterday. I also do circuit weight training three times a week. Does thinking hard count?  ;)

I take my dog for  a good long walk every morning before work. (It's good for both of us!) Three times a week I do weight training. Now that the weather is improving I'm riding my bike to work when it doesn't rain.

I am basically a work-out nut...  I go to the gym at least 5 days a week (more if I have time) and do cardio for an average of 45 min each time.  I also strength train 3-4 days a week for around an hour.  Cardio involves usually the treadmill, stairmill, or both...
Now that its actually starting to get nice out I will probably spend more time exercising outdoors... Today I went rollerblading but I like to bike ride too...
I feel better, sleep better, and eat better when I stay in my work-out routine...  If I miss a couple days in a row my body misses the activity and I will actually get pretty crabby!  Does anyone else feel that way if they miss their work-out?

That's what I'm affraid of. But thanks for the advice. Someday I'll get the guts to try it LOL. The fall off of one of them things can't be any worse than taking a spill on a snowboard (God knows, I've been there many times LOL).

I do yoga and pilates, I hula (badly) and mini trampoline!

There was a time when I would start running every year just after the London Marathon and I would say to myself "this time next year, I'll run the Marathon", until a couple of years back when 2 weekends into this ritual, I got up at 7am on that rainy sunday morning, got ready, left the house, got into my stride despite the rain and after 20 mins was overtaken by a pensioner, honestly he was as old as my grandad admittedly a very fit, lycra clad, kagool wearing, nike runner ... plus he passed me at such speed, well I just couldn't carry on  ;D

My bessie mate particularly loves rollerskating, which I used to do as a child quite well, so I recalled, until we went to Roller Disco for her birthday ... I was black and blue and stuck the bar with our other mates while she, bless her, rollered around, and around, and around.

Biking - I've got terrible balance issues ... am I making excuses?  ???
