How does one pinpoint parasites?

So, I've read all about master cleanse, fasts, parasite cleanses, etc and taken sanitation classes for my business...
I've eaten my share of raw eggs, meat, fish so how do you know if you're parasite laden? I assume everyone must be to an extent.
There's no worms in my poo :P But I've seen footage on youtube of roundworms in someone's stomach enough to make my skin crawl.
Have any of you taken steps or cleanses to rid any parasites from previous meat eating or am I being totally paranoid? ;D
My husband and I do a general cleanse once a year.
It's just pills and diet restriction so it's easy peasy.
I don't think it gets parasites though... ??? now I'm paranoid.... :-\
I can't wait to hear more information on this interesting topic.
Thx Bean :)
You'd be having some pretty interesting symptoms. Diarrhea, extreme weight loss, nausea, fatigue (although fatigue can be a sign of many other sorts issues), stomach pain and cramping, malaria, blurred vision, swollen lymph nodes...yeah, you get the point. Are you showing symptoms of anything? If not, I probably wouldn't worry about it. The human body is very efficient at taking care of itself. I'll be honest and say that I don't believe in parasite cleanses, but I suppose that's just me...
yea, i wouldn't worry about it too much if you aren't showing symptoms. on the other hand, i was having problems and after doing a simple stool sample, i found out i had blastocystis and giardia. although that was after i did some traveling overseas (western samoa) and camping. i just took medication for it though. its possible to have parasites and show no symptoms.
I personally do not have symptoms that I could connect to anything parasitic but between what I had learned from sanitation regarding microorganisms and what I've read about contamination lately between our 'taste of chicago' and just general unsanitary conditions with farming animals, I often wonder how many of us are harboring a few tagalongs.
I've seen online 'claims' at curezone.com about self cleansing, it made me curious. I know that there are self-curing/homeopathic methods using herbs but those likely have skeptics. I wonder if one would be continually sick with them from all the by-products produced from parasites.
I hope someone has some experience with this, I'm so curious hehe.
I recently read a whole bunch of stuff about scary parasites, psyched myself all up, and then sort of forgot about it. I agree, that our body is probably pretty efficient about taking care of those things.
HOWEVER,
Before I was ever scared about parasites I did do the master cleanse.
I had mixed feelings about it. I felt great throughout the whole duration, but, when I stopped I kind of went crazy and started eating and drinking whatever I felt like--so I feel like it defeated the purpose. :-\
Lesson learned: I have a hard time when I do something extreme, such as the master cleanse, NOT doing the other extreme.
But, now that I've learned this lesson and 8 months have passed I think I'm ready to try it again.
If you are interested in doing that particular cleanse I would recommend it over any of the store bought mixes or pills. Those things tend to scare me, and I rather liked the master cleanse because it consisted of recognizable ingredients. You can get the book at any library it's The Master Cleanser by Stanley Borroughs--I think that is the correct spelling.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.
i actually did do one of these like 3 years ago... honestly it wasn't even memorable enough. it was a herbal thing consisting of a pill, a fiber supplement and tea.... all daily. i think i did feel like it did something but i really can't remember and in terms of lasting effects? no idea...
dont some parasites need to be killed by meds/antibiotics? i dont think pooping them out would help all that much....
i dunno.
but if you are looking for some other freaky parasite, burrowing worms and invading germs...you should check out this book, "maneater", its a good one!! :-\ it goes into how all these things affect your body, deep down...
you could always do some stool samples w/ your doc if youre really concerned.
If parasites have invaded your body - you would definitely know it over time! You'd have loads of side effects, and would need real treatment. No colon cleanse or other would help you out, lol.
I, too, think the "parasite" cleansing stuff is a big rip off. As I said, if you had parasites living in your body, you'd need real medical treatment ... or your health would deteriorate until the parasite killed you (which can take a while).
Unless, I'm misinterpreting what you're saying, and you're perhaps talking about something else. Like benign organisms. We do live with microscopic organisms ... bugs, really, all over our bodies. But, they're not something that will cause you harm.
