How funny is this??? Smoking NVR...

I did well today with not smoking.  Got home and really wanted a cigarette!  But there was a huge box on my front stairs.  Was deciding if I would buy cigarettes or not because I really wanted one.
Nearly got dressed to go and buy some.  Finally opened the box and it was my KitchenAid food processor, my reward for quitting.
Talked to my boyfriend tonight and told him I bought a food processor.  I told him it was my reward for quitting smoking.  He said you have said you were quitting many times and didn't.  I will be happy if you just use it to cook healthy meals for yourself and get yourself healthy.  Tell me in a month if you have been smoke free!
Damn him!  I will tell him in a month, in two months, in three months and in ten years! That will teach him.  Now I have a challenge!!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

On a funny note, he keeps telling me to stop spending money that I don't have (5 easy pays on the food processor) so I was a little leery telling him about it.  I thought the reward for the not smoking thing would make him happy.  The make him happy was the fact that I want to learn to cook more nutritionally for myself and to get healthy.

As well, I have posted a few times on the board that I was quitting and then couldn't so many of you probably think like him.  Have heard it before.  This time I am going to prove to all of you and my dear sweet BF that I can do it.  Most importantly, I am going to prove to myself that I can do it!

so what if you're spending a little on a new food processor? think of all the money you'll be saving by quitting smoking! cigarettes are expensive - and cigarettes for an entire lifetime? you're definitely spending money to save money.

Funny thing, my BF will have to teach me how to use it as I have never in all my life used one.  He can cook and loves to cook.  I on the other hand can't cook and wish I loved to cook.  So I am going to work on it.

Don't forget to let me know which weekend you may be coming to Toronto so we can go out for lunch or dinner! :-)  Oh, or a week night.

Don't worry about the past!  You only have to be successful once for it to work!  :)

Kudos on day 1 down & your new toy!

Thank you so much!  I truly love that sentiment!  I am going to write it in my journal that I started last night with my reasons to quit list and my day to day triumphs or struggles!

Thanks again!

Di, set aside the money you used to spend every day/week on cigs in a jar, labelled "FP Fund". I'm sure you'll save way more than the price of the "toy", and it will be a way to pay it painlessly. Every time you drop that ciggie money in there, a) you won't have change to buy cigs with and b) it'll remind you of the goal.

Sounds great Di!  Didn't feel good to tell him you're gonna do it this time?  And the fact that he kinda "brushed it off;" didn't that make you even more determined?

Once you learn to use the FP you will LOVE it!!!!

Congratulations!
