Smoking

OK, I just had my last cigarette!  Enough with the smelly hair, the caved in lungs and my disgust for being 14 years smoke free.

I am going to consider the last 1 3/4 months as a bad dream!

I am done with it,  Now let will power kick in.  I am also going to start detoxing on Natural Cellular Defense which I got from my friend Declan in the mail today.

I will post his website later when I find it.

Good luck everyone with doing the same thing.

I am late with this post and im sorry if you have needed support in the mean time.
PLEASE tell me you are still off them???????
I have been in the same situation you are in and found the detox realy helped me commit myself.
I have tried to quit 4 times in total. I make it till around the 10 month max mark then get bored and start again. I think it helps that i dont start off with 'ive quit' and bold statements of sorts......I just tell myself i dont feel like one right now!  that way i think its less pressure on yourself. Maybe this could work for you.
I realy shake everything up too in my life and focus on fitness etc.
I want to say hang in there and be STRONG.
You can do it Diver Di. :)

A friend of mine quit, "five minutes at a time." He would tell himself he only had to wait 5 minutes for his next cig...and the next...and the next. I have discovered this helps when I have the unspecified munchies...you know, you think you're hungry but don't know what for. So I say, "Well in half an hour if you're still hungry, you can have something." And usually by that time I've forgotten about it and am doing something else.
I guess it's deciding what you really want.
Also my friend (Pablo), put all the money he would normally have used to buy cancer sticks aside  in a jar over a month. He was amazed at how much it added up to.

funny, I just thought "I'll go have a smoke" and then decided to check the board first.

I suppose I can wait 5 more minutes... :P

Thanks for everyone talking about it.  I have to set a date to quit.  for real :-\

I have a friend who used to smoke one cigarette a day. Yes, just one, after dinner. When she was pg with her first child she decided to cut that one ciggy out & she told me it was the hardest thing she has ever done in her life.

Good luck Di & everyone else who is trying to quit.

i wish i could just smoke one a day..then I wouldn't be sitting here supporting my fellow quitters..

As of 10:40pm tonite..I have been a "quitter" for a week..after my "slip up" the other day, my cravings have been next to nothing, and the ones that do "show up" are easily brushed away.

Now I gotta work on these 4lbs I gained eating junk all week. GRRR!

Congrats!!!!  You are doing amazingly!!!!

Me on the other hand bought more cigarettes.  Now added to all my current stresses, I can add to them!

I am still going to make a valiant effort to quit but think I need a day or two of self reflection to psyche up.  I thought I had but guess I hadn't.

What the h*ll possessed me to have that first cigarette after 14 years is beyond me.

Actually not beyond me because I did it for a bunch of stupid reasons.  Now I am paying for it.

It would have been better had I not lit up during a very stressful time.  Now the stresses keep building.  I know I have to start taking control again of my life and ignore external factors.  Hopefully next time I post on this thread, I will have good news.

Once again, congrats Majicka!  You are doing great!!!!!! :)  I am very proud of you!
Keep up the good work.
