Anyone try Daiya vegan cheese yet?! Any other good vegan cheeses??

It melts and stretches. I had it in a grilled cheese sandwich and it was the most amazing thing!! It melted, got gooey and stretchy and tasted just like cheese. Weirdest thing, it's made with Cassava!? So it's soy free too. I swear, I don't work for them but this is the closest thing I've had to real cheese EVER: http://daiyafoods.com/
I also like teese, follow your heart and cheezly. Pros and cons to all of them but I can't believe how far vegan cheese has come in a few short years. Any others I should know about??? I'm always on the look out for new vegan cheeses!
I just found a new pizzeria near me that has Daiya!! Sooo exciting, especially for St. Louis. :)

Okay, I have just about decided that I'm going to waste a crapton of gas and go to Whole Foods in Indy to get some Daiya! After you said they had it there, I can't get it off my mind! And the Go Max Go bars...I want try those SO BAD!
I'm looking for Daiya everywhere, like a crazy woman.
I was at a vegan restaurant and I had a waitress who was clearly very new. I asked if their cheeze was Daiya, and she said, "No, I don't think it's diet..." ;D

Those are AWESOME! I hardly ever buy them because even though they're vegan, they're DEFINITELY junk food (first ingredient is corn syrup, I think) - but damn, such a delicious treat. They're perfect candy bars!

I bought an actual package of Daiya instead of getting it from the deli... They have it in bags now! I'm hoping it stays fresh this time around. I think I wanna try it on pizza! It was $5 though, kinda pricey for a little bag.

I just might have to do that! The nearest WF and TJ are on 86th St, which is probably about 2 or so hours away, I think. It just might be worth it, though!

The closest WF to me is in Naperville. It's almost 3 hours away. I might make a WFs run on the way back home from vacation this summer though. There is a Trader Joes there too.
I got the prepackaged Mozeralla for $5 (I think it's 1/2 lb)... It melted well when I made it on pizza but it kept sticking to the back of my teeth from biting into it which kinda creeps me out :P
I know whatcha mean, AML, the texture is a bit sticky... but OMG, just tried this stuff for the first time, and it TOTALLY made me happy! I made flatbread pizza with roasted tomato sauce & Daiya mozzarella... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I accidentally ate the whole thing in one sitting! ::) I really liked it... now to try the cheddar (rubs hands together in anticipation)!
Local hfs in Nashvegas had one bag of the cheddar kind and I bought it. Put it over some leftover veggie fajitas and it was pretty rockin'. I also ate a big handful of it when I was drunk and it was the closest thing to real cheese I can remember. I don't think I'll buy it often, but it'll be fun to play with every now and then.
I made a mac and cheese casserole with brocoli,tomatoes and soysage. It was really good, I'll buy it occasionally.

YES... it DOES smell like vomit. I had to throw out the first and only block of that shit that I bought... I knew it was going to be awful just from the smell, and then I tasted it and it tasted like vomit too.
GROSS.
