ATTENTION HIGH MAINTENANCE VEGANS: Moisturizers, Exfoliation, Body wash, etc

Sup, I'm in the market for some new products. I have tried the Jason and Kiss My Face products and haven't really been pleased with them. Sup with the high end stuff? What's vegan and awesome? Price isn't really an issue for the right priducts.

THANKS, Y'ALL

How about Aveda's new skin care stuff? I love all their hair care bidness. And it's all vegan & smells divine!

Lush! I'm not a shill for them, I just love their stuff. Not all of their products are vegan. Everything I use of theirs is and I've never been happier with what I use.

It's the only haircare I've used for at least 6 years now, and I get compliments on how strong and soft my hair is from everyone who has cut it during that time. No build-up, no tangles.

Their skincare is great, too. I've tried to use other stuff, but always go back.

My sister gave me a bottle of Argan oil and I am loving it. It makes my skin super soft and it absorbs quickly.  It's also good in the hair - I just rub the excess into my hair from my hands after oiling up elsewhere.  I think it's a bit pricey but a little bit goes a long way so it lasts!

I use Avalon Organics face wash, shampoo, conditioner
I have Giovanni shampoo and conditioner too
I loveee Aubreys moisturizers.
And I have this body wash from Shikai (I think), its citrus. It kicks ass. Seriously.
I use Victorias Secret lotion/body scrub/shave stuff because it smells like frosting.
And I have some desert essence conditioner too.

I love all of it.

my hair is really thin and fine maybe someone else with a similar hair type can help!

Amy, have you tried Avalon?  My hair tangles really easy but that stuff has worked great. I have awapuhi mango. Plus, it smells like yum.

Amy, what kind of water do you have? My water is very hard and minerally here and it's really rough on my hair. When I shower other places with softer water, it's much better. I've had two water softeners installed and the water broke down both of them, so I just live with it now. At least the water tastes great!

Here's a recipe for a detangling spray I found online that you might want to try until you find the right shampoo and conditioner:

8 oz. distilled water
1 tsp. aloe vera gel
1-2 drops glycerin (make sure it's vegetable based)
1-2 drops essential oil
15 drops Grapefruit seed Extract

Combine in a spray bottle. Shake before each use.

i have hard water but i know that's not what is causing the problem... i went vegan in april of 09 and used "regular" shampoo and conditioner (Matrix Sleek Look Smoothing) and never had a problem with buildup or tangles... i have tried so many vegan brands and end up giving them to my sis who says they work fine for her... unfortunately a couple weeks ago i switched back to Matrix and my hair is great again although i did lose quite a bit from battling the vegan ones for the past while... i really want to find a good vegan one :(

I've been looking for a low-priced option for hair gel etc. and I found this website. I haven't tried the recipes yet, but I'm going to.

I recently realized that Pureology makes my hair a tangly mess, too!  I love the smell & the fact that it says 100% VEGAN right on the bottle.  It also protects my color really, really well - better than anything else!  But man, combing my hair after a shower is a BITCH.

I'm in the same situation with my hair.  It is long, straight, and thin.  Because of finances, I really have to use the whole bottle, but I buy a new kind every time.  If I end up showering away from home and use a nonvegan shampoo, my hair is great.  The vegan stuff works well when I first get it, but with time is tangly and heavy.  I think part of the problem is the vegan ingredients in shampoo for fine hair.  Some bodiying shampoos coat your hair to add body which creates residue over time.  I really don't have any advice yet, but I think I'm going to try a shampoo for a totally different hair type next.
