brands of vegan shampoo, conditoner, make-up etc.?

Hey! I'm wondering what brands you guys use for shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste etc as well as what the ladies use for make-up. I'm on a limited budget for some items and relying on parents for others so nothing too fancy shmancy please :) Also I know this question may be impossible to answer, however, are there drugstore brands you guys use at all?
I think Revlon products (make-up, shampoo, conditioner, etc.) are cruelty-free. They're cheap and easy to find at the drug store. Please correct me if my information is outdated, but I do recall reading that their products are not tested on animals.
revlon is cruelty free? nice:) am i wrong or do some brands actually contain animal i dno.. "pieces" in them? is that wrong?
Shampoo, Conditioner & Lotion: I like the Desert Essence Organics line. It's organic, vegan, and wheat/gluten free (for celiacs). I've also seen it in a lot of HFSs in a lot of cities, so it seems to be widely available.
Toothpaste: I'm not loyal to any brand. I browse, read labels, and select something that's vegan but I like to experiment. The more "unique" it is the more likely I am to select it. I tend for toothpastes that have tree tea oil or fennel in them and they seem to largely be okay.
Make-up: I use mineral makeup, but not often - just for presentations and times when I'm trying to look more authoritative. Makeup is a product of pollution. The minerals have to be mined, processed, and transported. Each step stresses the earth. Sometimes, because we do live in a society with certain criteria, I use makeup. The nice thing about mineral makeup is that it doesn't go bad, so the eyeshadow that I have now will still be good in 10 or 20 years (I expect). Also, I wet a fine-tipped paint brush and use eyeshadow for eyeliner because eyeliner goes bad and is wasteful.
The bad part is that none of the products are especially inexpensive (to the pocketbook, not to the planet) when compared to big box store brands. I'm not sure if I could get my economy-wise mom to pay for the products I use. I guess I would pay for these things by saving a little bit out anytime my parents might give me money.
I double-checked. Yes, Revlon is still cruelty free. So are products by Avon, E.L.F., Jane, Milanil and Physician's Formula.

What brad is the mineral makeup? I just did a goggle search, and there were several brands. Does it look nice? I liked my make up, but lately it has been making my skin peel, and the eyeshadow has been creasing also.
I like Nature's Gate shampoos, conditioners and lotions. The best part is you can refill the bottles at many co-ops and HFS. They aren't particularly expensive ($4-5 for a large bottle that lasts a few months for 2 people). I also love Avalon organics, but they are pricey.
I have tried the Bare Essentials mineral make-up and I don't care much for it. IT feels heavy to me and doesn't look natural at all.
I use Larenim mineral makeup and have been satisfied with it. You can get some of their products at Whole Foods stores, but you can also buy online. Shipping is free if you buy $25 worth of product, which is easy to do--and they have very reasonably priced samples. For eyeshadow, blush, concealers--the things you use in tiny quantities at a time--the sample size will last quite a while. They also have some beautiful goth colors.

I've collected it over years and I'm not brand loyal.
Out of what I've tried, I've found there to be a difference in the fineness of the minerals, which affects the smoothness of the final look. I like Bare Essentials, but that might be because Sephora stores are everywhere and it's easy to find.

I don't know if anyone else has tried it to brake the tie. I don't like their foundation. I think that if you use enough of the Bare Minerals foundation to make a difference it looks unnatural. I do like how their eyeshadow applies. I also like how I can use it as eyeliner, cheek color, and lip balm tint if I choose to travel light.

A quote from a discussion with my friends about this stuff -- "apparently the reason a lot of mineral makeup isn't good for large pores is because it's shimmery--the Bare Escentual stuff has a lot of bismuth oxychloride, which is a cheap filler that A) is shiny, which is why you have to buff in the BE stuff, to get rid of the shine, and B) the bismuth makes some people itch, especially with sensitive skin. The Everyday Minerals hasn't done that to me yet!"

To be fair, I've never tried anything but their foundation and I don't wear foundation very often. I'm more of a mascara and lipstick kind of girl (Clinique) for my daily routine.
MDVegan, Have you tried Aubrey Organics sea buckthorn products? There are testimonials on their site that it has helped with rosacea.

I have extremely dry skin & live in a very dry environment. I have been using Aubrey Organic products on my skin & hair for about 6 years now & the difference is unbelievable! They have several different types of skin care & their products are the purest on the market -- no artificial ingredients & also no petrochemicals in their products. There is one type of lotion that is not vegan & I don't know about their makeup, but for regular skin & hair care, they are fantastic.

I also use Nature's Gate, in particular, the tea tree oil shampoo & conditioner. as stated above it's affordable and i just love the way the tea tree oil kind tingles my scalp. Because i don't use any other hair product (and also because it's better not to wash hair too often), I usually only wash my hair a few times a week so my bottles can last for months. It also depends on the length of your hair. I am finding that the longer my hair gets the more frequently i have to wash it. It's something to consider if you are on a budget because often times changing/re-evaluating your habits can contribute to less consumption/less spending, etc.
PAUL MITCHELL!!!! not super expensive, high quality and they are cruelty free, some products contain humanely sourced beesewax though (spraywax & drywax), i love The Wash & Instant Moisture conditioner. ;D
I'm a big fan of Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum. Use a little to soften hair or control the frizzies.

You guys think Revlon is cheap? I'm always rolling my eyes at its prices. I even think Mary Kay can be cheaper than it at times, of course I'm not sure if Mary Kay is vegan friendly... It's good make up and skincare system though...Anyone knows?:-\
My friend sells Arbonne, she swears her line is cruelty free and not tested on animals.
I bought this Tea trea shampoo and conditioner from her a while back which was really great for my scalp and it gave a nice tingling sensation but I have not bought the line again ever since because my first impulse was that the product line had a few steep prices.
