mmm lara bars

I searched & couldn't find much on this...does anyone make their own lara-type bars? I love them (especially the jocalat ones!) but can't dish out two bucks apiece. any tips?
kbuette made some hella awesome ones for me in an exchange once. It was cinnamon-y.
I made them once, but they almost burned out my food processor because it was so thick. I just got cashews and cranberries and maybe something else. I blended the cashews first and added fruit until it was about the right proportion of nut to fruit and thick and then formed bars.
I buy them on amazon. If you use the Subscribe & Save feature, they are about 1.19 each. The subscribe & save can be canceled anytime with the click of a mouse, so I use it a lot for things to get the cheaper price and then immediately cancel.
I make something close--I call them Capture's Apple Nom Nom cookies--they remind me of the apple lara bars with out the dates--I have the recipe posted on my blog--I think it's under the "Raw Preparations" blog! There is a picture too :) hope that helps!!! (blogs are located under the vegfriends tab...)
just use dates plus any kind of nut/flavours. the dates make it all stick.
I didn't soak my dates. Maybe that's why I nearly broke my processor.
thanks for the tips. BP, I think the chocolate ones have cocoa in them and it's the only non-raw ingredient. As well as things like the mint extract or orange extract.
I'll have to get some dates (hah, puns) and try this sometime. mmmm.

heh, so I realized. one day when I visit your fair(?) state, (wherever that may be at the time), you can show me how to make larabars. Some would call it a date date. as for other things....we'll see. ;)
