Natural, Vegan Friendly Cosmetics?

I'm a new vegan and want to live natural, especially when it comes to things that come in contact with me! I've been able to switch over most products with ease, but I've had trouble finding Vegan and Natural cosmetics without it costing me an arm and a leg. Any advice? Items you like?

Sheesh!  I was typing it up and I come back to this?!?

Bully.   :'(

I was lashing out, because I was hurt. I <3 u.

eta: Omg. That's beautiful. I'm so sorry. I'm sending you something today!!  :-*

I don't know if you've tried Arbonne. All of their catalogue is vegan. It's an MLM company, but you can get an account and buy your own stuff at discount and not sell anything to anyone. I particularly love their moisturizers, but they have a full makeup line too complete with mascara.

Not sure if all of these work, but I found a site that gives coupons for a bunch of different things, and E.L.F. was one of them:

This review was on msn.com today.  Some of the products are vegan.  I made a list of the ones I want to try.

MAC has a few products which are vegan. Origins which is an organic company also has a selection of vegan products.

These are products that I have used and love, and i use them in my freelance work. It's not expensive ... treat yourself to 1 thing at a time and you're never laying out alot money.

Ok, sorry for such a long post girlies ... Hope this helps out! :) Feel free to drop me a line anytime with questions.

I should be writing a paper bbbuuuttttt...this is so much more fun!!
I was just going to ask about MAC products. I am addicted to them, especially they're liquid liner and the Ruby Woo lipstick. I know that Dita Von Teese did a thing with MAC and I know that she also did some campaign stuff with PETA...soooo I thought maybe I could put two and two together and maybe (just maybe!!) MAC would be a responsible company (I mean, I pay enough for their products for them to at least try to be responsible...). I went on their site but could not for the life of me figure out if any of their products were vegan and/or if they used animals for testing. Do you, Jacque, or does anyone else know what products by them are vegan or if they test on animals?

MAC's lipstick is not vegan but I'm not sure about their other products

Haii:) So i've been vegetarian for 2 years and last night i realized that almost all of my make-up products have been tested on animals and i almost broke down crying because i've seen the pictures of what they do to them=/ I was wondering if Physicians Formula Organic Wear Lose Powder is animal cruelty free? Oh and also Sally Hansen? I've been searching online but all i've found is mixed answers.
Thanks in advance:)

Physicians formula is one the Peta companies don't test site (companiesdonttest.pdf), but Sally Hansen is not. You will have to check the Physicians formula site to see if certain products are vegan.

These are some cosmetics I've found recently during my travels that are vegan friendly. I've been on an eyeshadow hunt as of late, and it's been really difficult finding a lot of purple eyeshadows which don't have carmine in them :/

Shiro Cosmetics
http://www.shirocosmetics.com/catalog.htm

She has many vegan friendly shades of eyeshadow - I'm awaiting an email to check to see if she does indeed have any non vegan products. She lists a full ingredient list under each of her products, and from what I've seen many of them appear to be vegan. There's a bright red eyeshadow (which is also lipsafe, for those who like to mix colours with their clear lip balm/gloss) that contains Red #40 = not carmine! It's quite rare to come across anything red which doesn't contain carmine or carminic acid. All of her eyeshadows are loose, mineral based formulas. She also makes lip products called Intertubes, which are like a lip balm and lip stain all in one. No face/foundation/concealer products. Reasonably prices, considering everything is hand made!

High Voltage Cosmetics

Such a wide array of eyeshadow colours! Another company that uses Red#40 instead of Red #4! :D Everything they make is vegan except for the Amplified Eyeshadow Base (which contains beeswax) Their Norse and Greek mythology eyeshadow collections are gorgeous. Some of the colours available for lip products may seem out there and alternative, but I like that they accommodate such a wide variety of shades for everyone!

Fyrinnae
http://www.fyrinnae.com/

Mineral style loose eyeshadows, blushes, finishing powders. Massive colour variety and everything is vegan.

Everyday Minerals
http://www.everydayminerals.com/

Eyeshadows, bases (foundation) concealer moisturisers, lip sticks (limited range). Mineral based and paraben free. I love everything these guys make, but I wish they'd make a mascara some day and some lip glosses! :(

It seems that there a lot of mineral based cosmetic companies (especially indie ones) popping up recently, which definitely makes finding vegan cosmetics a little easier now. Of course, that's not to say that mineral make up always equals vegan.

I'm a littled pissed with MAC. They never give me a list of what is vegan, rather they ask me to send them a list of products I am interested in and they'll cross check. I don't know, I know it isn't that much hassle on my end, but why can't they have at least a stamp system like Urban Decay does? :/

wow!  Thanks for those links!  I moved to New Zealand just over a year ago, and haven't managed to find good vegan make-up (not looked too hard admittedly) - some of those sites you mentioned ship here for a really reasonable price.  Thank you.

Oh, and cool sample sizes too - awesome!

Received an email from Shrio Cosmetics, and everything she makes is 100% :D

*waves from over the Tasman* No worries, I love their sample packets too! Plus those samples last ages since they're packed with 1/4 tsp of product! :D It's pretty hard to find vegan cosmetics in Australia too but I know that Natio has a bucketload of vegan cosmetics (they make skin care products also), and only some of the lipsticks are no-nos.

http://www.natio.com.au/

If they don't have any Natio in the pharmacies over in NZ, we're close enough that shipping shouldn't be a heart attack for you! :) They make vegan mascara too, but I haven't gotten around to trying it, but I really cannot wait to!  It's so very affordable at $14-15 a tube, beats the one in the health food store that $30 ;)

Thanks for even MORE info!  I had a look at the natio website and some of the pharmacies near me apparently stock their stuff so I'll have a look next time I'm near one.

And yeah I'm VERY keen on the sample sized eyeshadows - I tend to like lots of different bright colours and hardly ever wear make up so what I do have lasts for ever so I don't need the larger sizes.

One of my work colleagues is going back to the UK soon, so I'm getting tons of e.l.f. stuff sent to her mums address just to stock up on super cheap make up - their mascara is fine for my needs and only £1.50 (~NZD3, or AUD2.3) - let me know if you want anything from them and I could ship across to you if you wanted (although I think e.l.f. also has an Australian site?)

I know the original post is old, but I was trying to find some info and stumbled across it.  I also found a site that lists lots of vegan make-up by category http://www.onegreenplanet.org/lifestyle/the-ultimate-vegan-makeup-guide/
