does anyone live in yuma? has anyone been to this?
I have never heard of it but YUM-- I want a portabello burger with sweet potato fries. :)>>>
Oh man, do you know what I would give to be able to go through a drive through? I'm so jealous!
Greens in San Antonio has a similar menu but a bit more expensive:

They don't have a drive-thru but my DH has brought home (90 mile trip) the Sesame Chickin for me a couple of times. Very good even re-heated! We eat there every time I'm in San Antonio on a week day. He'll eat there at least once a week because it's only a couple of blocks from the school he teaches at.

mmmm that place was SOO GOOD! soy soft serve... YES!
I didn't get a chance to eat there before I moved :'( I guess I shouldn't complain, at least my hometown has grown enough that we now have a Jerusalem Cafe and they do have yummy food.

Totally off topic, but Jewel--every time I look at your avatar it looks like a luminous marijuana leaf is floating behind your head. What IS that thing? :)

i'm obviously not jewel, but i assume it's a firework!
I'm confused--on there home page they say their menu is 100% plant based but there menu is all burgers and chicken. is it faux burgers and chicken? That would be awesome if it was.
I think that they are all plant based, they just lost a lot of quote marks. If you look at this other page on their site, I think it makes it a little clearer: http://www.natures-express.com/whatis.html It may be a case of wanting to fool the omnivores. :^

Ah! OK--Thank you! I want one in A2 now too!
Thanks! This thread reminded me of the vegan takeout 15 min from my work http://zizis2go.com/
I started passing the menu around at work & told people I'd go pick i tup if they wanted anything. no takers yet.

Have you had their mint chocolate chip ice cream? I saw it on the menu and am still holding out hope that there is a good vegan mint chip somewhere on this planet!
no I haven't. I'm not a big mint ice cream fan. But my husband really likes Purely Decadent mint choc chip, have you tried that one?

maybe its just the background music, but that place looks fancy and good!! yumm!
haha- no it is most definetly not fancy. But it is really good!
there's a new one opening in berkeley today! i'm headed over soon!!
I've been to Nature's Express in Yuma (there's supposed to be on in San Diego, too, and I was told one was opening at the Clark's in Riverside, CA). The owner i an oncologist and believes emphatically that a plant-based diet can reduce the risk of cancer. I just think that's so damn cool! The food was decent - typically greasy spoon-type fare, which I happen to love since we so seldom get to eat that kind of thing anymore. It's been a while so I don't remember what we had, but I remember being satisfied. The manager was super nice and talked to us for a long time about the owner and the plans they had to expand. Before we left they boxed us up a bunch of couscous and veggies they had left over from a catering gig, on the house. How awesome would it be if a fast food place like that spread across the country - one in every town! And all the McDonald's had to shut down because no one bothered to go there anymore. *sigh* COULD HAPPEN!
