Tings?

I always hear vegans raving about Tings, the vegan cheetos.  What do you all think of them?  I've never had them, but I'm curious.  Cheesy snacks were never my favorite snack, but I might have to try them solely because they are vegan.

P.S.  I did a search, and we have NEVER talked about Tings on vegweb.  Ever.  What kind of veg*ns are we, people?  For shame.

Yeah..oh well...

So, I'm looking at the booty site..and there are so many flavors! The simply booty vegan looks really plain...(from ingredients).

From what I can tell, these are vegan:

baked snacks
simply booty vegan, veggie booty, baked tings, fruity booty, pirate's booty w/ caramel, soy crisps-country barbeque, pirate's swag-peak trail cranberry trail mix

fried snacks
tings, tubes, veggie chips, veggie tubes

air popped snacks
original potato flyers

Oh wow, you all should check out the "Robert's product museum" on the site LA linked. It's outrageous!

"Bubble tea popcorn"?  Ewwww.  I love bubble tea, but associating it with popcorn is uncalled for.  Really now.

What's bubble tea?

I don't like that one can't click the pictures in the museum to read about them! That's a major flaw.

Bubble tea is this tea (often cold, but can be hot) with these tapioca "pearls" in the bottom.  You drink them through a big fat straw.

^ That's probably not vegan, seeing as how it is milky, but they're not all like that.  And sometimes the "pearls" are light-colored instead of black.  It sounds odd, but it's good!  I don't quite understand how it could be made in popcorn form, though.

Oh....

I guess we'll never know, huh?! Maybe we can bring it back, by popular demand! (after we find out if it would be vegan..)

I just sent this message to "Robert" (contact us):

"Is (was) the bubble tea popcorn vegan?

Would popular demand bring it back?!"

I'll update with the response....

Awesome!  Do it, Robert!

(omg, that was an unintentional "do it."  officially my catchphrase.)

You realize he's probably not reading this thread, right?  :P

We should make a petition.

I don't even really want the bubble tea one though...I want some of the other ones. One step at a time, I guess.

Here's the reply!

I don't want it if it's not vegan, though...

I want some more vegan ones!

"Allison,

Thank you taking the time to contact us.  Bubble Tea Popcorn was
before my time here, but from what I'm told, it was not a Vegan snack.
I can't make any promises, but I will pass your revival request on
to Robert.  He's always trying to come up with new, exciting snacks,
but he isn't above bringing old snacks back to life.

Have a great day and happy snacking!"

Awww poo.  :'(

I think this "robert" charachter is a major stoner doing "scientific tasty snack research".  ;D

Dinkfeet once mentioned that VW should take a tour of vegan-esque places...telling companies, that yes, you want us to come tour your plant and get our feedback. I think this is one place we should put on our list!
