Vegan Boots & Shoes

I always have the WORST time finding professional, good-looking dress shoes that are vegan.  So does my husband.  This week we both found shoes we are very happy with.

My husband's shoe is the JUSTIN, available at Mooshoes.com. It comes in brown and black.

My shoe is the "WOMEN'S CHOICE" by LifeStride, available at shoes.com.  It comes in dark brown, light brown, and black.

At shoes.com, you can type in "vegetarian" in the search area and get their non-leather shoes.  At zappos.com, they have a vegetarian shoes link on the right side of the screen.

Hope someone finds this helpful!

do you mean docksiders, or just shoes to wear on a boat?  i looked briefly for vegan docksiders but didn't see anything.  but i'm sure you could find something appropriate for boating if that's what they want

well most specifically, she wants these:

but obviously they're not vegan. And I was wondering if there even are any vegan shoes that are similar.

I know this is an old thread, but I just have to say that finding cute, warm VEGAN boots that don't look like a cheap piece of shit is really proving difficult for me. I have spent the last 2.5 hours online looking for a vegan version of these:

and it is officially impossible. :'( I am really practical when I buy shoes--I like to be able to wear them with pants & dresses/skirts, and I want them to be quality-made so they'll last me awhile. I also refuse to have aching feet just for cute shoes. I am really frustrated right now. >:(

OMG, I am shopping for boots RIGHT NOW, too!  I'm gonna go check some local discount stores, everything sucks online.

:'(

That's what I'm off to do this very minute! ;D Online really does suck right now. I have not really had a problem finding cute flats or heels (online or in actual stores)--much to my pleasant surprise--but boots are a COMPLETELY different story. Ugh. I hope to come back victorious!

Well, I'm back... No luck! :'( I am so, so frustrated. I emailed Zappos asking if they will be getting anymore vegan boots in soon, and someone wrote back right away saying that she isn't sure, but will see if there's a way they can make an email notification system to notify me when/if they get more! I thought that was very nice. I really love Zappos, especially for their customer service & free shipping both ways! :D

Too bad all of their "vegetarian" boots are blech right now. :-\

Just an idea, but Victoria's Secret catalog often has some vegan shoes and boots.  I haven't bought boots in ages, but the last pair of shoes I bought were dressy, and I got them at a mall department store.

Okay, seriously--I was just about to go check out VS's website right now. The only thing I don't like is that they are under the same parent company as Bath & Body Works, and they test on animals. But I guess I can't win them all--I just aim to do what I can, and if I can avoid leather, I'm happy. Oh, I think VS uses slave labor, too, but I can't be quite sure.

I am a Debbie Downer. Sorry. ::)

P.S. Yep, they apparently do use slave labor... :'( http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/69022/

Maybe some place like Alloy?
I don't know if their boots are completely vegan, they use words like "man-made" and "faux-suede" but I'd probably email to make sure.
I got my running shoes from there, I liked it because they were actually advertised as "Perfect for vegans!" either in the magazine or on the website.  And some of their shirts are veg*n cutesie

^ Uhhhh... You might be my hero. I checked Delia's today, but didn't find anything! I should have though of Alloy--you're a genius! :D I think I might be getting a couple pair, especially because they're not very expensive at all! Yay yay yay!

Thank you both for your suggestions; if I sounded ungrateful about the Victoria's Secret suggestion, I didn't mean to at all! I appreciate all ideas! ;)

Did you check out these Target ones?  http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-5434258-6068926?ASIN=B000VAUMSY&AFID=Froogle&LNM=B000VAUMSY
Unfortunately, they received 2 crappy reviews.  :-\

Yes, thank you! I did check those out earlier, but I decided against them because they looked a little...cheap, and they had two bad reviews! But thanks for the link; I do like the style!

They are Asics. They say "synthetic leather upper" on the tag. Is this enough info?

They took some breaking in though & are not as comfy as my mizunos, I should write mizuno & ask them if they use real leather.

"Synthetic leather" is an oxymoron, surely? Like saying "true lies"? I mean, it IS or it ISN'T.

I thought your thread title meant you found out that some good vegans were "running sneaks" as in they were sneaking non vegan food--I feel really lame that it was about shoes now...

LOL @ capture. that is the craziest thread definition i have heard!

I need new running shoes (probably thousands of miles ago)! i have definitely not been getting them due to price and wanting to get vegan ones....

Can the people who have found running shoes up there please post a link to them?  Like, if you know the brand and style name, if it is on the shoe or something.  I am also shopping for new (workout) shoes, and I'll be a monkey's uncle if anyone else can find any vegan ones around me over here, because I sure as hell can't.

Well I'm not SURE that there are vegan. I just looked at the tag inside that said what materials they were made from. Maybe you just need to check each pair when you try them on? I'll email the companies when I get a chance!

I bought some last year, they were Onitsuka by Asics...SO comfortable.  They were advertised as vegan by Asics, but not by Zappos (where I bought them from)

I love how lightweight they are. But the only ones they had left were butt ugly colors....so I just run in the morning before it's light outside  ;)
And for some reason the heel of it feels a little high too me....maybe it's just me and my sensitive heels, but I had so blisters for a while.  Other than that, they're best running shoes I've ever had

(some of these are definitely not vegan)
