Vegan nailpolish?

I feel like there have been several posts lately about vegan make-up, face wash, body wash, etc... But I recently thought about nailpolish. I know some brands contain nasty stuff like formaldehyde & I avoid those, but what about animal products? I tried Googling it (Google gets many visits from me on a daily basis about lots of random stuff... ;)), but I couldn't really find much. Does anyone know? And I guess while I'm asking, what about OPI, specifically? That is usually the brand I buy, but I can't find any reliable info.

P.S. I did just find a couple articles that mention some nasty stuff in OPI, so I won't be buying that anymore... :( And I had no idea nailpolish & a lot of beauty products don't need to meet any government standards before being sold. >:( WTF? Well, true--I probably wouldn't trust that much, anyway, but that's ridiculous.

But, still... Any other tips for good (pretty, safe, doesn't test on animals, etc.) nailpolish? :) Thanks!

Anytime I'm trying to find vegan products I visit veganessentials.com.  If I recall I saw a couple vegan brand nail polishes but I don't remember the names.

No suggestions on the nail polish (sorry) - but you stated that you've been using google.... have you tried http://www.goodsearch.com ? You pick a charity and everytime you do a search, the website will donate a penny to your charity. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it does add up  :)

There is a company called No Miss that I found in my Wild Oats.  I later found out that they're based out of Florida, so they might not sell them in other places- I just got lucky.  They have lots of colors of nail polish plus remover, nail care, etc.  I can't guarantee that it's vegan, but the ingredients look fine to me.  (They are posted on the site so you can have a look.)  As someone who has "field tested" the products, I think the nail polish is FABULOUS looking, but may be slightly harder than commercial nail polish to remove.  In my opinion it is a small price to pay for a natural, non animal tested product!

Here's the site:  http://www.nomiss.com/nailpolish.html
