My daughter was the first one of my children to make me a proud Gramps about two years back.
But that was on maternal side gramps.
I became a grand father of a little Angel on 5th March when my daughter in law delivered her.
I feel that my mission in life is complete and all desires fulfilled.
It is a wonderful feeling.

Something must be lost in the translation. I'm not sure what "maternal side of gramps" means.
Are you saying you are now complete now that both your son and daughter have kids?

You are correct.
I feel complete as both my children ie, my daughter and my son have made me "Grand Father"
In India, we are called NANA ( maternal grand father)if our daughters have their children.
We are called DADA ( paternal Grand Father) if our son has his children.

so which are you called now since both children have kids?
interesting...

When I go to my daughter's place, I am refered to as Nana and at our home, I will be refered to as Dada .
Congratulations on the new granddaughter!
I haven't had any kids yet, but I have always thought that life comes full circle when your children have their own children. It must be such an amazing feeling!
Congrats! My parents are about to become grandparents for the first time in less than a month and same with my in-laws. I know they are all so excited (and of course we are too!)
Awwwww, Congratulations NJA. I can only imagine how sweet it is to have grandchildren.

Interesting, that. Because in Wales "Nana" or "Nan" means Grandma.
Kudos on the fruit of your family tree!
Congratulations on your grandbabies!!!!! My parents are sooooooo ready for grandchildren. Good thing I have a sister who is closer to producing them then I am!
I THANK YOU ALL FOR WONDERFUL AND KIND WISHES. Love you all..... :)>>>
