Well, not really.
We are indeed expecting our 2nd little herbivore in July, but we are in the name quaqmire. Everything sounds good, but nothing is perfect. We know for sure we're having a girl, so now we just need some outside perspective... so why not you guys?
Any feedback, drawbacks or comments on the names are welcome. As are middle name suggestions (we have a few in mind, but I'll not make this poll any more complicated...)
So... whatcha think?
I love the name Cordelia from "King Lear." I almost named my daughter that, but I went with Emma instead, just because I'm a Jane Austen fan!
Her middle name should be vaygun. Just sayin' ;)b
Greta! Definitely. Its classic yet cool at the same time. I so loved naming my kids. My girls are Cleo and Mona. I kept it short and simple.
Congratulations! More vegans in Ohio!

"Mona" has a dear place in my heart.

Awww...me too, AC. I wanted to name my daughter Mona since I was little...only I envisioned her with long dark hair...which never happened, btw.
What have you cut out?
Well, It looks like the top and bottom vote getters have been (for now) discarded. Cordelia, as mucha s we like the idea of haveing a daughter named after a King Lear character, just doesn't seem... right, I guess. And Luceille has been converted into a possible middle name.
The front runners (this week) are Greta and Alice.
As a person who has been practicing occult science , my leaning is towards Alice because this name has easy phonetics . It has three sounds which are primordial...A, La and Sa. It is a name very easy on tongue and has a very innocent sounding quality about it.
On top of the above qualities, a name for a female , if it has the soung "I" , it becomes more powerful.
I root for Alice for the above reasons.

Hey Allychristine,
I do make mistakes but English is not my mother tongue....I am chronically prone to making errors in understanding... :-D
I picked Greta, though I agree that they are all great.
I also will mention for your consideration "Moira" (I have some great friends who's oldest daughter is named this, and I just love saying it!) or "Lucinda" which is my grandmothers name which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

"D". And it rhymes with "Godzilla".
Which was sadly repeatedly rejected by my lovely wife as a possible fiorst name. ::)
For a girl, I suggest you several names depending on their country of origin (that's where i come from):
French firstname : Ambre, Alyzee, Aurore, Cybille, Loana, Maelyss ...
Russian firstname : Lena, Anastasia ...
Algerian firstname : Aisha, Dalila Sherazalde, Yasmine, Keïla ...
If you want the meaning of one firstname i can explain...
Well, I hope I help you and Congratulation !!!!!

hmmmmmmm. Well that didn't help me cast my vote. I like both. einy meny miny moe... I vote Greta (as long as the middle intitial doesn't start with "O", or maybe you'd want it to?!?) because the name reminds me of the littlest daughter in the Sound of Music (Gretl), and she was as cute as a button! :) That and its pretty unlikely that she'll ever meet another Greta so it's "different" but "normal"
Congrats on the new (brewing) family member!
K
Remember, many women change their name when they get married, so Little Greta Godzilla may actually be Mrs. Greta Beretta for the majority of her adult life.
Had my parents known when I was born what my future husband's last name would be, they wouldn't have given me so many E's and T's in my first name. Granted, the names sound good together, but it's a mile long and I feel like I'm chewing taffy if I try to say my future full name.
^-^
Last names don't hold too much water with me when it comes to naming baby girls.
Dodzilla?
I'm confuzzled.

Close, but no cigar! ;D

Unless you are raising your daughter to be a staunch feminist and keep her maiden name! ;)b
eta: The heteronormativity of this statement still bothers me. What if you daughter is lesbian? What if you daughter chooses to have a lifelong relationship without ever bowing down to the institution of marriage?
agreed.

Naaah...AIS is just the inventor of Mozilla, that's all. He gave it the family name. ;)
