Superstar VegWebber of the Week: faylinameir!
Faylinameir (http://vegweb.com/index.php?action=profile;u=100923) is one of our great raw VegWebbers! Her raw tomato pasta (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=31040) is one of my favorite recipes on the site and something that I've started to make regularly! We're lucky to have her as a part of our awesome community so three cheers for Faylinameir!!
VegWebber since? : February 12, 2009, 01:02:53 AM
Vegetarian, Vegan or ?? : Raw foodist
Where do you call home? : anywhere with two fluffy cats & a husband, but currently sw Iowa, soon to be southern California.
What do you do when you're not on VegWeb? : I love to cook (uncook?), do anything artsy, hit the farmers markets, garden, or just spend time playing games on my computer.
Do you have blog or website? : yes, www.faylinameir.com however its not completely ready yet, still transferring all the files.
Do you tweet? : not recently I haven't, but www.twitter.com/faylinameir
One unique thing should know about you? : i have a weird addiction to photographing what I eat.
What's the best thing about being vegan? (if you are!) : I'm not technically vegan since I chose to eat honey, but I would say its the overall healthy feeling I get from it. Its like a natural high you get form being strung out on veggies. (lol)
Favorite romantic recipe on VegWeb? : http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=28730.0 Okay I don't know if thats romantic, but it could help set the mood? ;)
Favorite recipe on VegWeb to make for non-vegans to show them how amazing vegan food can be? : oh gosh you're gonna make me pick one?! um... probably the microwave Brownie http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=24854.0, sure its not healthy but its tasty
Any New Years' Resolutions? : to lose 50 lbs by next year, and quit smoking. I've quit smoking, and now I'm working on the weight, so far its going okay.
One thing you wish you could make vegan but haven't succeeded at yet? : a half way decent cake, I haven't had any luck yet
#1 Cooking secret/tip? : Never be afraid to fail. I think thats a great one for life too. When cooking I (honestly) rarely use a recipe. I throw stuff together hoping it will work sometimes, and 99% of the time it does! Another tip for that would be to keep a pen and pad handy to write your new creation down just in-case you end up loving it! Thats where most my recipes come from.
Best music to cook by? whatever I start randomly singing, that or, whatever is on the radio at the moment. I listen to everything from pop to hard rock.
Three people you'd most like to have dinner with? Heliamphora , hespedal , vabeachraw - my buddy list is kinda big, so its hard picking just three. But yeah, I'd rather eat dinner with normal people than famous ones any day.
All time favorite restaurant? : does my grandma's kitchen count? I honestly don't have one. I move around too much and all the places around here are antiveg it seems. Ask me again when I move to Cali.
French fries or ice cream? : neither, I vote for almond yogurt
Soy milk, rice milk, almond milk? : almond, and definitely homemade
Tempeh, tofu or seitan? : none, I don't eat soy anymore
congrats!
way to go!
