I went to a New Years Eve party and Chili Cookoff. I made black eyed pea Chili for New Years good luck.

We watched LOST and drank some imperial stout. We also played Scrabble and watched the ball drop at 11PM (we're in CST but the east coast new year means more to us. Besides, at midnight all anyone had were reruns of the Time Square balldrop.) Quiet plans, but we 1) didn't feel like drinking too much and 2) weren't up for spending money outside of the house.

I went to a sleepover/party with my friends.

I made vegan cookies and cream cupcakes, they were so yum! Everyone loved them.

We had a jam on some guitars and sang and danced the night away.

our plans were to go out with friends to a party, but when the bf realised it was gonna take us 2 hours to get there due to tubes being off (normally 45min journey) we decided to have a quiet one - local pub for a couple of drinks, then home to watch the London fireworks on telly at midnight, then a bit of wii playing.
I was very proud that I managed to stay up past midnight.  I usually can't stay awake beyond 11.30pm

From the position of 'after the event' I can tell you I went to bed at 10pm, while the rest of the family stayed up and played trivial pursuit and watched the fireworks.  I was there however for a great vegan meal the next day, which was new year time for west coast USA.

Went to a party and toasted the New Year with hubby and friends.  Went to bed at 4 AM and then got up at 8 AM to prepare New Year's Day dinner for family.  I love to cook and am trying to increase my collection of vegan cookbooks.  I would be so excited to win a fabulous new cookbook!

Ooh, Ooh....pick me! PICK ME!!!  ;D

I stayed home and had a quiet night of baking many recipes from this site. Ok...so that's what I do pretty much every day  ::)  But I just love to cook! I've been home on disability from a work injury since june and all I do is cook and bake. Then I give away everything I make. This book would give me so many ideas. I'm hoping to show people how tasty it is to be vegan. So far, it's working  ;)b  I had a fun, productive, SOBER new years. STRAIGHT EDGE FOR LIFE!!

Made carrot-parsnip-ginger soup for a bunch of non-veg friends then hit the bar. Didn't notice until I sat down, but picked the bar stool next to the meat, cheese and cracker plate. Just my luck.  :>
