Weekly Giveaway: The Blooming Platter by Betsy DiJulio! jpepin is the winner!
Sometimes a person has to look outside of VegWeb for a recipe. I know, it's scary, but true. Luckily for us, there are about a million amazing vegan cookbooks out there! One of my latest favorites is The Blooming Platter by Betsy DiJulio (http://www.amazon.com/Blooming-Platter-Cookbook-Betsy-DiJulio/dp/0980013135/). Filled with recipes like Southwestern Tempeh and Corn Pie, Blooming Vegetable Calzones, and Spicy Baja Tacos, it'll have you full until next Winter! Besides, it totally needs its own category in Cookbook Lab, and I think you're just the person to start it!
To win a copy, let me know what your favorite rainy day eats are! Giveaway ends on Tuesday, May 3rd at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random! Must live in USA to win.
Good luck!

mmm hot cocoa :)
or veggie lasagna
All kinds of vegan soups/stews and veggie pot pie!
On a rainy day, I get so sleepy....
So I love to bake microwave - cakes in a mug! They are so cute, and it gets done in 5 minutes! My favorite is chocolate, and I snooze in front of the window clutching the warm mug afterwards.... ;)b
I have to say that my favorite rainy day activity is simply sleeping, but aside from that, eating anything warm and cozy on a rainy day is just fine. Also something simple so that I can take the time to relax, watch television, read, or play board games. A casserole, mmm. Something "cheezy." Maybe even veggie lasagna if it doesn't take too much to assemble. In fact, it's raining here now! I better get cooking!
Warm, fresh baked bread.
hot tea and miso soup. And yes miss webmistress laura, i am getting the weekly news letter :)
brownies
My favorite rainy day eats are hearty bean and vegetable soup with dumplings!

Rainy days - it's veggie/red lentil soup and lots of 'taters.
Rainy weather always makes me want to stay in and bake cookies.
PB chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, molasses, whatever. Cookies make everything awesome.
I like my comfort food... anything chocolate.
Soup all the way!! Either lentil w/spinach, or creamy potato and broccoli (I throw some extra veggies in there too, like sauteed portabella mushrooms, onions and carrots), and a grilled chreese. :)>>>
A yummy hearty soup with some bread on the side to dip into it. Yummy! It's raining here right now and I think I will look at my soup recipes for something fitting. :)
My favorite rainy day meal would have to be soup and sandwich combo, perhaps a veggie tofu noodle soup with a cheezy panini.
My favorite rainy day meal would have to be any warm vegan soup! I love cream of potato, cream of broccoli, french onion, veggie chili, no-chicken noodle and more. Soup is so comforting!
