Weekly Giveaway: Stonehouse 27 Sauce! silentexplorer13 is the winner!

Speaking of stone fruit, let's talk about dates. They used to freak me out, all shrunken and freaky—that is until I got addicted. One day I decided to jump into the deep end and try to get used to all the foods I disliked. Some failed—tomatoes blerg—and some succeeded wildly success—dates, plums, and avocados! Hey, those are all stone fruits. Maybe that's because they're delectable? Who knows, but that's probably it! My newest obsession is Stonehouse 27's Dates and Tamarind Sauce (http://www.stonehouse27.com/Articles.asp?ID=144). It's savory and tangy and downright delicious.

For your chance to win a jar, let me know what your favorite stone fruit is!

Giveaway ends Tuesday, July 26 at midnight, winner will be selected randomly, must live in USA to win.

Good luck!

Cherries!! (The most chocolate-friendly of stone fruits...although I love me some chocolate avocado mousse too.)

My all time favorite would have to be peaches.

That's a really cool challenge... I've been doing that informally since I've gone vegan, since I hated most vegetables! I've actually never really eaten dates because I think they're expensive, but I assume I'd like them since they're sweet and I love nearly all sweet foods.

But avocados are definitely my favorites! (I only recently got into them too)

This is a tough question...

I REALLY love nectarines because I spent my childhood summers eating them with my dad and getting the juice all over me. Then again, my ma used to can bing cherries and my aunt would always send some back with my grandparents from Naches, Washington when they went to visit. And right now I LOOOOOOVE avocados in everything - salad, burrito, you name it. It's so good.

So I guess I don't have a very good answer.  ;)

Oh man, I'd say peaches, no contest, if it weren't for the fat that avocados are included. They're so different, that it's hard to choose between the two. On a hot summer day, a nice juicy peach is amazing, but avocados are so versatile - they're great on their own, or disguised in a raw mousse. I know I definitely buy more avocados than peaches, at least.

I love organic freestone peaches, plums, nectarines...dates...mangoes (do they count?), but my favorite I think are apricots. Just super yummy!!

I am a fan of plums, dates, and nectarines. But I love the versatility of the avocado, despite the fact I rarely use them...

This summer, I got 2 dozen peaches from a skinny peach tree I planted. The ones that were not perfect, we gave to the birds and our local chipmunk. Peaches - my fave!

Cherries! Truly though it's avocado, it just doesn't seem fruit-like enough to me... it is in a category all its own! All hail the green-goddess...  :>

Oh, nectarines.  I like peaches...but someone has to peel them for me.  The fuzz icks me OUT! *shudder*  Dates are another fave!
