Even though this seems like a million years ago, I can still remember the smell of those nasty square pizzas that came covered in a foil tin, hiding those soggy tater tots underneath.  YUCK!

Now I pack things like chickpea salad sandwiches and BBQ seitan to take to work with me.  MMMMMM!  :D

I'd have to say after ordering my food & my roommates.(which is not a vegan)I was eating some tofu w/ rice & mixed veggies. Some how the restaurant slipped in some cubed chicken with my meal. HUH...I took a bite & noticed the texture & uggg I was finished eating them. I no longer eat there.

I remember in middle school they served milk that was so old it came out of the carton looking like cottage cheese. I didn't buy milk, but my friends did. Bleh.

When I was in the 8th Grade I went to a country school and the lunch room cooks were local farm women.  It was fantastic. They really knew how to cook.

Best: My mom's left over "mystery meatloaf" sliced up for a sandwich

Worst: 8th grade "Touch of Class" lunch where their vegetarian option was a ham-riddled 'chef salad'

My mom made my lunch when I was young, but once a week I got to order cafeteria food as a treat.  The best lunch I ever had was a slice of cheese pizza, a carton a 2% milk, and a chocolate chip cookie (this lunch was so far from veganism... but man did I ever enjoy it as a kid).

Similarly, the worst lunch I ever had was also on a "caf food" day when I was young.  It was boiled hot dogs in white-bread buns.  They were soggy because the caf staff put the wet dogs (straight out of the pot) into the buns (with no drainage time).  Nasty!

Worst lunches: When I would get my sister's meatloaf sandwich by mistake (bleck) or the time I had the school lunch and bit a tendon or something - I was sure it was a worm and had to stop eating.

Best lunches were the ones packed with love (yes, and notes!) by mom. But I also really loved the hamburgers (pre-vegan days) which everyone else hated, they called them "soyburgers". Now I think it's funny that I loved them so much, foreshadowing methinks!  ;)b

This is hard since every school lunch i had was crappy...but i'd probably say the worst was this beeforoni stuff or the hamburgers cause they were never cooked all the way..(that was when i ate meat) ..after i quit eating meat ..i never ate the school lunches.
