Weekly Giveaway: Veganize This! by Jenn Shagrin! Allychristine is the winner!

Well, I'm not sure if Jenn Shagrin, the author of brand new vegan cookbook, Veganize This!: From Surf & Turf to Ice-Cream Pie--200 Animal-Free Recipes for People Who Love to Eat (http://www.amazon.com/Veganize-This-Ice-Cream-Pie-200-Animal-Free/dp/0738214027), is Italian, but she's definitely awesome. Also, Veganize This! includes a recipe for Quattro Formaggio White Truffle Macaroni and Cheese, and that sounds pretty Italian, right? Ethnicity aside, Jenn and her cookbook are freaking amazing. She's a master of vegan meat and dairy substitutes — her versions will blow your mind. Plus, there's a recipe for Vegan Doritos. Need I say more?

For a chance to win, let me know what your favorite Italian dish is.

Giveaway ends on Tuesday, February 15th at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random! Must live in USA to win.

Good luck!

I love Italian food!  One of my faves would be spinach lasagna but I love all the pastas!

It's also hard for me to choose a favorite, but I've got to give a shout out to rapini greens. Steam them lightly and top with chopped fresh basil, toasted pine nuts, and a drizzle of olive oil and you will have a yummy, slightly bitter/slightly toasty Italian style side dish.... and for the main I would love mixed mushroom risotto, or gnocchi with pesto and fresh tomatoes. Whether I win or not, I can't wait to check out this cook book by the way, it sounds really fun and awesome!

O.O
WANT.

My favourite Italian dish would probably beee...... either veggie-filled lasagna OR pizza / calzones made with my beer crust recipe (full of herbs and nooch!), topped or filled with all manner of veggies and maybe daiya if I'm feeling indulgent. Basically all the same ingredients--tomato sauce, spinach, mushrooms, onions, artichoke hearts, olives, red peppers, nooch--but it depends on if I want noodles or a big soft crust with crispy edges.  ;)b

Hummmm... Mmm... anything with oodles of roasted eggplant on it! Like sometimes I roast eggplant and just toss it with some thin pasta, basil, and olive oil so that the natural eggplant flavor isn't covered up by any sauce or anything... (thanks VegWeb, now I know what's for dinner tonight!)

:)>>> I LOVE the basic margherita pizza with huge slices of fresh tomato, fragrant basil, and fresh mozzarella cheese.  Next on the list would have to be eggplant parmesan. I also love cannolis and tiramisu! A good vodka sauce is also a favorite especially when paired with stuffed shells and a nice, crusty baguette.  ;)b

Mushroom scampi!  I "veganized" a recipe for a murder mystery dinner kit and have loved it ever since!
