Annoying commercial

Anyone seen the Hillshire Farm cheerleader-style commercial in the office cubicals about their prepackaged salads that end in  "Hillshire Farm. Go Meat!". Ugh. I hate that commercial. Random rant...sorry  :D

Reason number 3 why I don't watch tv at home: No commercials....I really hate radio commercials for fast food places though & lunchmeat too.  :P

I think its kind of funny....."go meat!!!"  Of course I think its gross, but just ridiculous so it makes me laugh a little. It almost reminds me of a Saturday Night Live skit.

The font they use looks like one that I see "go veg" with a lot....I think they are doing it as a fight against the "go veg" movement.

I saw that on IFilm! Why would anyone ruin a perfectly good salad with gross cold ham cubes? Even before I went veg I hated ham and I hated cold meat on salad. Bleck. :P

On the plus side, vegetarianism must be really appealing if a meat company has to try so hard to make its products look good.

My mom and I were just laughing about that commercial last night and how ridiculous it was...the effort they put in promoting it is comical.

I only tape shows now on TiVo so I can fast forward through all the crap.

Living in the Midwest, I get bombarded with carpet seller and carpet cleaner commercials (everyone knows those Luna, Empire, Stanley Steamer) around here and their jingles.

Has anyone gotten the "Activiaaaa" jingle in their head? Or, the m&ms new 'theme' song...or "Aqua doodle" the kids toy? Boy those repeat in my little brain all day....hehe

800-588-2300 EMPIRE! *ERG* now it's stuck in my head too--Stanley cleaners gets carpet cleaner!! *EEK*!!! Their like demon jingles!!! HELP!

*GRR* I hate those "Go meat" commercials too! yesterday I saw a news story about the Oscar Myer Winner mobile and American Idol teaming up to find the child who can sing the theme song the best--like our kids need to be eating that soduim laden, chemicle filled mystery meat *yuck*

OMG I haven't seen those commercials in years but I still know the jingles!
We don't have commercial TV we're a strictly DVD house but when I'm in the grocery store I see "BEEF: It's What's for Dinner" ad and I can hear the guy's voice in my head saying it and i always say out loud, "Not at our house it's not."
even if I'm shopping alone... then people look at me weird.  :-\

*hahahaha* I have such a vivid image of you walking around a grocery store saying "Beef! It's what's for dinner" as other shoppers stare at you in horror...don't worry though--I tend to say things like that out loud too in public places--and yeah--I don't have too many friends  :-\

And they'd always play that fancy violin music in the beef ads (which is now running through my head, btw). Because nothing says "class" like a slab of dead cow on your plate.  :P

For all you Empire viewers, are any of you incredibly creeped out by the CGI cartoon of the old guy rolling out the new floor? He gives me nightmares. They should make a horor film starring him and the BK King. *shudder*

One thing I hate about commercials is that so few sponsors buy space early in the morning, so during my morning workout shows I see the same ads everyday. It's not very relaxing when, during my yoga show, I see at least two (cheesy) ads for Colonial Penn telling me to make sure I'm good and insured before I kick the bucket. A true moment of Zen!

Yeah, what's even creepier is that the reason why they use an animated old man is that the actual old man (whose voice is still on the commercials) is DEAD.  And yet, he lives on thru endless annoying ads...

I laugh everytime I see the GO MEAT commercial because it's so gross and dumb.

The go meat stuff just grates on me.  SHeesh, meaters can't even eat an innocent vegetable without having something dead to top it off with. ewww!

All I can say is, if you are what you eat, then I'd rather be a vegetable than a dead animal.

Hey, beanthai, you may have seen my son! He did a commercial for Stanley Steamer in Chicago a few months back.  :D

No way bookmama!! That's so funny. My mom always tells Buyowner that if they finally sell my stepfather's house she'll do a commercial for them. That would be funny. I often wonder who those people are..

Those Hillshire Farms commercials are really annoying, not only because of what they are promoting, but because they get stuck in your head. Though, I have to say that they are sort of humorous, even though I hate what they are advertising...maybe it's funny because of the lengths that meat-eaters will go to to insist that they are the normal ones. They have a newer one out where there are these men barbequing and they start shouting back and forth....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1xGFcmmf-U....it's quite disturbing, actually...

I'm glad I am not the only one who hates those commercials. I want to pull my hair out everytime I see one.
