I don't know if this has been posted a million times already, but my husband heard one of these public service announcements today, and we looked it up, and it made me *so* happy.  It looks like a great place to refer people who may be interested solely in the health benefits...

i see they have PCRM linked. i like that site, but i have to question all their studies. it seems like they are getting everything to come out in a positive light for veggies that i have found other studies about that say the exact opposite. honestly, though i obviously believe that a vegan diet is superior health-wise to the SAD (or even non standard, meat/dairy/egg eating diet), i really don't see how everything can always come out in a positive light for them. i think i am just bitter right now because i am trying to write my senior project on something to do with veganism and i am having the hardest time finding studies that promote veganism for little things like 'blood levels of ____.'

in conclusion, if you are began, do not study nutrition. most dietitians do not believe that veagnism is the most healthy diet, no joke. piss on them.

p.s. anyone have any good ideas that they have heard about regarding nutrition and veganism that are relatively narrow in focus? and that are pretty well studied? please?

There are lots of extensive scientific studies quoted in Stephen Walsh's 'Plant Based Nutrition and Health' - you can get it from the Vegan society's website a LOT quicker than you can get it from Amazon

Hespedal, have you looked at The China Study by Dr. T. Colin Campbell?  Lots of references and studies to verify the health benefits at the back of the book, not to mention what he discusses throughout the book.
