Did you watch The Goode Family?

What did you think about it?

I couldn't help but laugh at some points...but that vegan dog angers me.

Damn!  I really wanted to watch it....I totally forgot it was on last night....
I'll have to set it to record next week's when I get home......

I watched it. It was pretty ridiculous, but it definitely made me laugh at times.  I liked that the mother was in competition with the other women at the store.  That was kind of realistic.

I just watched it (had it recorded).  I didn't love it, but there were some funny and/or relatable moments.  I liked the sign at the store where products kept moving back and forth between the 'good' and 'bad' columns.  And the bit about the reusable bags made me laugh.  The people were dumber than I expected (though they seemed to get smarter as the show went on).  I'll give it another chance.

I watched....I thought parts were funny, but I can't really see a huge ton of people relating to this (like the IRL Flag people). Unless you are into the green/veg/environmental lifestyle, it might not seem laughable.

I always rip a tiny piece off of a paper towel so I thought that was funny.  ;D

regarding the dog......I agree, not good. But at least the vegan people looked healthy. That would suck if they made them seem emaciated and missing meat too.

I meant to watch this the other day and totally forgot.
What channel / network does it come on?

i do the paper towel thing too!!  not til i saw it on there did i think that other people might think it's weird..

i thought the show was pretty funny, too.  i think they overdid it with the dog thing in the first episode but i cant imagine them making the same reference so often in the future episodes.. even if you believe it it still gets old and unfunny.  the people definitely didnt look starved.. thin but not sickly.. the son is even a fat vegan!  i liked that the show didnt just revolve around food, too.. if anything i felt like it made everyone else all the non-vegans look kooky.

I thought it was funny, but they kind of covered all the quirkiness in the first episode.  I think they will run out of material quickly.

I could totally relate to the reusable bags thing.  If I forget my bag, I carry everything out.  LOL.  I must not be the only one who does this or it wouldn't have been on TV, right?  ;)

Yep, me too! And there's a store here where if you don't have your bags you get scoffed at.  :D

Ok, so if there's a photo of me and my dad walking down the isle, is it proper to title it, "My dad and I walking down the isle" or would it be "my dad and me walking down the isle"? Facebook crossover. ;D

"My dad and me walking down the aisle."  A teacher a long time ago told us that in choosing whether to use "I" or "me," you should remove the other noun and see what the sentence sounds like...i.e. "Me walking down the aisle" or "I walking down the aisle."  That's how I always figure it out.

I just finished it.  I'm not sure.  It wasn't funny as a whole, but there were funny parts, especially the reusable bags (I take carry it out without a bag, too, when I forget mine) and the flag pin part (it was spot on how a friend is).  It just seemed to have a slow pace.  Like, the dialogue wasn't clever and fast.  Dunno.

I found the show entertaining but nothing spectacular. I am not sure that it will catch on with the general public. I hope that it does, as I hope that at the very least the mass public can see little things that they are not doing that are so beneficial (taking your own bags for instance). Sometimes the gentle little nudges are very powerful.

The dog didn't really anger me, I think that it said to me that the family had the best intentions for the dog, but the dog wasn't always supervised and therefore left to it's own devices - in which it "rebelled" against the family's lifestyle.

I am looking forward to catching a few more episodes before I decide it it's really doomed or not!

we watched it last night (it's available to watch through the ABC website.. I got the link through hulu) and thought it was kind of funny. but more in a laughing at them way. because we are good at laughing at ourselves, apparently. i think i will probably watch it a few more times and see how it evolves.

i also thought they seemed to go over a lot of things and they will probably run out of material quickly, that it probably wasn't very relate-able for the general public, and that it was kind of slow/boring (i can't really imagine enjoying it at all if it weren't for the family being vegan). meh... we'll see.

I watched it through Hulu, also. I thought it was ok. I wasn't offended at anything, and a few parts were funny. I liked the part where she was like, "neee.....aaafffff....bllllaaaa....... :walk away:"

I watched (what I guess is) the second episode, but not the first. It's ok. I get a lot of the references w/ the animal rights/rescue community (though the ALF totally places liberated domesticated animals into homes, not the wild! but oh well.), but it's not really laugh out loud funny to me  :-\

I just watched the second (football) and third (animal placement) shows.  The only thing that made me not be bored was in the second episode, they were at a picnic after the game and a guy asked the dad, "I stuffed a turkey into a cow.  Want a slab?"  And the dad replies, "None for me, thanks.  I'm completely stuffed with grapes."  I've been to a picnic like that.
