Dunkin' donuts-encourage them to add vegan products!

I submitted a letter today. I would kill for a vegan Dunkin' Donut, but that wouldn't be very vegan of me.

The latest edition of vegetarian times has a whole bunch of vegan donut recipes. They look delicious.

when i grew up as a kid in Brooklyn, Dunkin Donuts was part of my childhood, w/my dad taking my two sisters and myself there every week - it was great yummy donuts and quality time with dad as well.
when i lived in Nashville, Krispy Kreme was all the sh*t, i never could understand how anyone would like KK over Dunkin' Donuts!

Their donuts are vegan (aside from a few with honey), although that's only if you ignore triglycerides and such.

Careful, the donuts aren't vegan at all. All the donuts have either eggs or milk or both. Even the plain glazed ones. I think it's part of their basic donut mix or something.

Animal (or human) derived L-cysteine is often in bagels as well. Not sure if that's the case here.
I think I'll make an exception for human hair.

I read dunkin donuts website. They changed their ingredients list a few months back, and now the bagels are OK.
I check before I eat :)

I eat cysteine about 50% of the time, because sometimes it's synthetic. While I don't know when it is synthetic, I figure I'll chance it.

I mean it would be awesome if everywhere had vegan stuff, but Dunkin Donuts seems like a weird place to target. Are they an industry leader or something? Like, if they go vegan, other places will have to, too?
Not sure myself. I believe the same organization had a campaign for Morningstar (or was it Boca?) to eliminate eggs, too, and it was successful.
I think this org focuses on egg farms/battery cages/etc. Why donuts in particular? Dunno.
I definitely think Dunkin is the industry leader in the donut world. They probably use millions of eggs every day to make their donuts, so why not try to get them to stop? I'm sure this is not the only campaign they are working on...as FB said.
Plus, donuts taste good, and I want one. I hope they do it for me.

But isn't that like saying that "so many companies exploit animals, so why bother trying to fight any of them."? Of course Dunkin isn't the only company to do so...and they probably aren't the worst. But that doesn't mean an effort shouldn't be made to bring these matters to their attention....and maybe the letters will go across the right person's desk! Imagine how many animals would be spared if one huge company like Dunkin decided to stop using eggs and milk. Even if no other company followed suit....it would have a huge impact on the animal industry.
They only thing that is weird about it to me is that milk and eggs are staples to their food, not just traces. Eliminating them would not be easy. They have all those nasty cheesy/eggy breakfast sandwiches, and milk-based coffee drinks, and cream cheese. I don't really foresee them starting to use Tofutti BetterThanCreamCheese.
If anything, Starbucks seems an easier target. More hipsters and not so down-home-comfort-food like DD is.

i just dont understand why DD was chosen. i think its great that someone wants to get vegan options there. but why did they choose dunkin donuts and not applebees or ihop or perkins.
i agree with kmk! starbucks would certainly be more likely to serve vegan food. they're already going in the green/organic direction. and i think they have soy milk. that would be pretty sweet to get a vegan pastry or even vegan sweet bread like zucchini bread at starbucks.
