Eco-Planet Organic from Santa-Monica Heaven Scent Natural Foods has introduced a line of organic crackers and cookies (reminiscent of animal crackers) in 6-ounce packages (some of the cookies are also available in 1.5-ounce packages). The vegan-friendly products - Non-Dairy Cheddar Cracker, Pretzel Cracker, Oatmeal Cookie, Vanilla Cookie and Cinnamon Cookie - come in eco-shapes (sun, windmill, Earth and hybrid car) and have been designed to teach children how to better take care of the planet (see back of package for info and descriptions of wind, solar energy, green cars, etc.). They contain no trans fat. Ten oatmeal cookies have 3.5 grams total fat and 100 calories, while 19 Cheddar and 21 pretzel crackers have 5 grams and 2.5 grams fat, respectively, and 100 calories. Unlike some organic products, these cookies and crackers are crisp, have body and really taste good. We favored the delicious oatmeal and vanilla cookies and the Cheddar crackers - and would definitely buy them. They're available at Whole Foods Markets.
