Horror Movie A Day: Redux - FAIL!

Hi there.

A Couple of years ago, I watched a horror movie a day in the month of October, and wrote my thoughts. Check it out here, if you're curious I had a lot of fun doing it.

I'm thinking of doing this again, but I'd like some feedback.

You see, nowadays I have 2 kids instead of one, the youngest is just under 3 months old. Add to that the fact that I am going back to school and working 40+ hours a week... Well, it could be a challenge.

So what I'm asking from you is to help me decide what's "fair". A whole movie would be tough. But to watch a single horror anime episode, or an episode of 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' seems like cheating. Would two episodes do? A 45-minute minimum, maybe?

And what about other media? Video games? A short story? Would these be interesting things to cover in a "Horror Thang A Day" type series?

I appreciate your indulgence, everyone.

It's a good thing he liked the name, I think it's a cool nickname. The Herzog-Kinski Nosferatu I think is mostly sad with human-like emotions. But I heard the english version was funny - I recommend it in the original German, but don't know if it's out in that. I like a vampire with some humanity - it's more complex and makes them more likable.

Or funny vampires too, that reminds me - did anyone see that movie with Dafoe as Max Shreck? That was excellent.

But gore is ok, esp. in a funny movie like the first Peter Jackson film - what was it called?

Bad Taste! I just watched it again the other day... I love old Peter Jackson splatter films :D

eta: If you like early Peter Jackson stuff, you should check out Black Sheep - NZ horror that came out a couple of years ago, it's pure gold :D

Yeah, I just saw that last week: Shadow of the Vampire.  He was great!  Amazing makeup too.

Finally, talk of non glittering vampires!

I loved 'Shadow'. It's like Dafoe, Malkovich and Izzard in a scene stealing death match.

A horror movie a DAY??!! That sounds ridiculously fun  :D
People seem to mentioning vampires quite a bit - 30 days of night, which may not be FABULOUS, still ranks pretty high on my list.

Katmit mentioned "Black Sheep", which is just plain awesome. You have to see that.
The horror movies of the 80's are always great. They're cheesy, short, and have just the right amount of blood spatter.
I still remember watching "Sleepaway Camp" during a high school sleepover. Great stuff!

I watched Troll 2 over the weekend. Fucking awesome.

You need to see these:

REC
Infection
Gozu
Let the Right One in
Martyrs

and for campy shit:

Frankenhooker
The Stuff
Chopping Mall
Rawhead Rex
S.I.C.K.
Nail Gun Massacre

I know this thread is old but I will definately be doing it this year. I'll probably do a mixture of older and newer movies and short ones for when I have a lot of work to do and don't have that much time.

Are you doing this again this year?

I saw this probably a decade ago.  It's as campy as there is campy.

We don't have TCM here.  :-\
None of the channels that we have are playing horror movies. There was an extremely brief Stephen King marathon but not any of my favorites. I think all of my movie watching will be online.
