Keith Urban!

So we're going to his concert tonight- as a matter of fact we went last night and decided it was so good we bought tickets for tonight- CUZ HE'S SO HOTT!!!! But I want to make a sign....Can you guys think of anything catchy?
(we also have a baby grand (piano) that I'd like to tie in if possible)- just cuz he plays (obviously)

OMG! My sister and I went to his concert when he was in ST. Louis on June 28.  Yeah, he is totally HOT!!!!!!!!!!!  :-*  It was a great concert, I was impressed with how long he played!  And he has such a great stage presence.  Wow.  I don't have any ideas for a sign, sorry. I just wanted to share my opinion on his hotness.  ;)

I opened this topic thinking that it would be that Keith Urban is a veg*n!  Oh, well, carry on.  I have no comments as to his "hotness".

I saw him when he played in Sacramento. great show!

Don't forget your cell phone (you'll understand why after the show)

We are playing on the same bill with him on Friday in MN.....not "with him" meaning "me"....but we're playing at the same show.....if I get a chance....I'll tell him about this thread and let him know he has some veggie fans and tell him to check it out....or at least show it to him on my laptop. ;) (might feel like a "dork" doing it......but I'll tell him anyway)......
gotta run and eat something.....

I'm not a huge country music fan but hubby is :D He dragged me to one of Keith Urbans concerts a few years back & I had the time of my life. That guy is one hell of a guitar player  :)

davedrum, who are you playing with?

I'd like to help, but I'm not sure who Keith Urban is.  I think he might be country?  I like Gilian Welch type country and live bluegrass festivals, but I don't know the more mainstream people enough to help with a sign.  Now if it were U2... (yeah, I'm a product of the 80s).

As I've stated before (a bunch of times)....
Just like I don't know any of the companies anyone here works for, it's just not something I post out in the open here on vegweb.....you can always email me...I prefer to keep that off the board. I never would expect anyone to post the name of the place where they work.......I'm sure you could agree and understand why. The internet can sometimes be a "creepy" place..... :P

I'm an open book about my career....it's my love and my passion....out here on vegweb is just not the place to discuss it. ;)

I saw Gillian Welch at Bonnaroo this year!  I really enjoyed her show.

Cool!  I saw her last year at Bridge School.  I got into her music after seeing O' Brother, Where Art Thou?

crazy_veg:  How was the show?  What sign did you go with?

aww.  no one came up with a sign.  :-\  aside from and_it_spoke, and, well.  prolly want to sit by the exits if you go with that one.
i'm also curios as to what you came up with.  i don't know keith urban, but i have a soft spot for signs.  i'm even more curious about the whole tying in the baby grand piano bit.  having a really hard time picturing that.  you weren't... bringing that to the show, were you?  how small is it?  were yougoing to draw it?  (cocks head to the side for a total of five minutes.)
guh.  sorry.  extraneous questions, but it's late and the visual has me mesmerized.
hope you had a great time.  really would like to hear about the sign.  suoerfandom is so much fun.  (holds up "i heart heart." sign in show of support.)

Keith Urban? Oh please. Look at this:

OK, he COULD be hot if he worked out, gained 15 or 20 pounds, ditched the late-90's keychain / janitor belt thing and washed his hair from time to time. :) Or stopped going overboard with the Jonathan Product Dirt. :D No, seriously, I could see it... just not my type.

Excellent!

I'm not really familiar with the guy but I looked him up on Wikipedia and he looks like he sucks.

If someone wants to be a fan of entertainers from New Zealand why would they need to look any further than Flight of the Conchords?

He still doesn't look familiar.  He was standing next to Nicole Kidman.  She got married recently, didn't she?  Is he who she married?

I agree, the photos aren't so great.  I think he and I have the same problem - what to wear when it's a dress up event.  So I went to youtube and he's much more agreeable in the video I saw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnGMrTy_olw).  I'm not well-versed in country, but the music was catchy.  I could see a show of his being fun.

I've only seen them in their HBO? special.  I was in a hotel room at a conference, so I had a television to watch and they were on.  I have a dry sense of humor, so I was cackling laughing all of the way through.

Those photos weren't the best, but they were taken pre-rehab, maybe the rehab made him look better?  He doesn't look so skinny now.  Well, I still enjoy looking at him!  ;)  Perhaps the awesome guitar playing ups the attractiveness-factor for me  :)

That's where I discovered them as well. They are hilariously funny and the music is very catchy.

Did you see the episode where Jemaine keeps appearing to Bret in dreams as David Bowie in various incarnations from his career? He introduces himself each time as, for example, "I'm 1986 David Bowie as I appeared in the movie 'Labyrinth'".  At the end of the episode they do a fantastic Bowie-type song/video and they both sound exactly like him.

Are you talking about their TV show?  I hear they had one.  I was talking about the special where they sat on a stage and just played their songs.  I saw it a couple of years ago.  I wanted to buy their CD, but you could only order it through them (back then, at least) and I never got motivated enough.
