Law & Order - Factory Farming episode

saw an ad earlier tonight for tomorrow nights episode (4/21).  looks like their investigation involves olivia going undercover in a factory farm or some type of slaughterhouse.  might be interesting to see if they actually address anything deeper than just passing one liners.

anyone know if the episodes are online afterwards?  i might not be home from work in time to catch it.

The episode is called "Beef," and it says: "B and S discover that a murder victim has been involved in the fight to expose questionable practices in the meat packing industry." I'm excited to see how it is. Love me some SVU.

I'm not sure if they are online (check NBC and USA). They usually replay episodes on USA, but I don't see this one again this week.

Oooh! This sounds interesting. I looked on Hulu, TBS, and NBC and I didn't see anywhere that had full episodes.

I didn't watch it because we were caught up in a good baseball game. I'll probably see it in syndication, some day.

I was excited to watch this, not because I thought it would cast the animal rights movement in a good light, but because I thought it would be entertaining to see how the show portrays the movement. I was not disappointed. The vegan boyfriend was portrayed as a total space case who seemed more concerned about his girlfriend's dog than the fact that his girlfriend was murdered. And then they show the girl doing the undercover work going psycho and trashing a store that sells leather handbags. Yeah, just more perpetuation of the stereotypes. At least, though, they seemed to take the horrible state of the meat industry seriously. But they just undermine that by making vegans look crazy.

I love SVU, but it seems like this season is lacking. Oh well. I don't watch the show to be enlightened, I suppose. I do appreciate that they bring attention to issues of social injustice to people who might not normally think about them, though.

Yeah, I agree. I feel the same way about Criminal Intent, too. : \

This exactly... Midway through the episode they actually started talking about how nasty meat was, which was cool... but it sounded like whoever wrote the episode watched Food Inc a few times and basically wrote the actors script using that info
