My favorite vegan video!

I think maybe I've posted it before. I dunno, but I just recommended it to someone, and therefore, watched it again...it's so, so good! It's educational, it's well done, it's pretty, it's clear, it's concise, it's categorized, it's refreshing, there aren't any bloody video scenes, and it's just a down right eye opening video, with great facts! Oh yeah, I love it. I wish I could wear it on a shirt. Pass it along!

This is pretty good and I like that it has a people component but I don't think it focuses nearly enough on the treatment of animals and why it is wrong to use them for human benefit. I think that a person could watch this and say okay, I love animals so I'll stop eating them, but eating eggs and dairy isn't hurting them, and buying a puppy is still fine! I know the point is to be concise and cover different areas of why veganism makes a difference, but they could have used the 2 minutes of introduction to cover a lot more important info. I'll repost this on fb though, and hopefully it will help.

I love this!  It's perfect for environmentalists and Whole-Foods-shopper type of people who have never thought about that piece of the puzzle.  They already have this mindset, so it appeals to the "low-hanging fruit" so to speak, without trying to overhaul anyone's value system.  I love that it is positive as well.

Well, I think of it more as an introductory video for people who really haven't heard anything about veganism. I think it's kind of a stepping block to then move on to learn more about other things. Everyone develops their thoughts on veganism differently (and comes into veganism for different reasons/different degrees), so I think the video is a base ground for everyone.  Not everyone (sadly) responds to the "shock factor" of many of the other videos. This one is more like here, here's some facts.

Point well taken :)

I like it because they use the term "farmed animals" instead of "farm animals".

Yes, good point. I think it's kind of funny how he says "veganchoices," like it's one word. He says it so many times...veganchoices, veganchoices...It's like teetering b/w adorable and annoying, but really great, either way.

Yes, definitely! I enjoyed talking to your sister, and I love her attitude. She can always talk to me, too!  : )

My sister is pretty lazy which is her downfall when it comes to cooking. She'd rather go play poker than cook.    Also her husband is die-hard all American Yankee meateater.  But it's awesome that her conscious has been raised, so there's hope.  Of course it might help if I didn't compromise my diet when were together so I'd be a better role model.

It's cool how posting a couple of vids changed a few people.  The one about the dairy calf caused one of my friends to go vegan, although he first saw it on another friends profile, not mine, but after I posted it he messaged me.  Another lacto-vegetarian friend gave up dairy.  Another one has been messaging me with questions.

No question about it the vids are working.  I worry about becoming one of "those" people who preach all the time, but basically I just repost what other friends of mine are posting, and I really have never been one who cares what others think, except those who sign my paycheck.

But hey, you're not compromising anymore, right?! ; )
I don't think it's "preachy." I think of it more as putting the information out there, and then being open to questions and discussion. I love it!

As I was watching this video my roommate said, "what is that?! it's scary brainwashing!"

I think I love this video because it ISN'T brainwashing. I feel like it puts things simply and gives solid facts, all things that I, as someone who's been reading vegan information for years now, already knew but things that when presented in that positive manner to someone who isn't aware of them, could really make a difference. My response to him was, show me a video like this that tells me all the reasons why I should eat meat and that doesn't say the phrase, "because steak is delicious" 6 times.

My process of becoming vegan has been fact based research.  It's out there.  I've read books like The China Study, John Robbins books, and The Face on Your Place.....all are researched well, with rerference and evidenced based.

I think it's just a matter of breaking through our denial.

Haha very likely the strange thing is that the only animal product he eats is fish, and really only ever in sushi (his family is from Japan.. dad's a sushi chef) so I found it interesting that his response was "that's scary!" but whatever.. he does many things I don't understand like not buying almond milk if the carton is facing the wrong direction..  :D

Tweety, I agree. I certainly think that you have to be able to support your opinions with facts and, obviously this video had a point and was showing facts that would support this point.

Really nice video suitable for sharing! Like others here I am finding that my (new) "veganchoices" do make a difference and in just a short time have led others I know to rethink some of their choices. I learned some things from this video too- and am feeling great about saving all that water. I can have a bit of a thing about wasting it even in small amounts- let alone gallons and gallons.
