Just heaing the words "Factory Farming" makes me quesy, and now seeing how many of them are in my state (Michigan) is just disturbing!

Thanks for posting this--it will be interesting to see if they can udate it accurately! I would love if they could have a second one showing which farms are being put out of business by public pressure--of course there are probably not that many... :-\

I was shocked to find out that Ohio is # 2 for laying hens!!!  I grew up in Amish country Ohio....and the Amish farm a couple miles from my parents'  house is now doing this!

The big corporation making all the profit off these farms gives them the buildings and feed and hens and everything. It's crazy, my family said they have these alarms that go off blaring anytime the temperature gets too hot in the "barn" and the "farmer" then has to go out to crank on the fans or the hens start dying from heat....awfulness! So much for the simple life....

What?!?!? The Amish are factory farming??? That's terrrible! How did they ever agree to this?

The scariest part is that they said the map is based off the 2002 USDA Census....that was 5 years ago! I hate to see what it looks like after the next census....
