So I don't know if this is so incredibly off-topic that it shouldn't be posted, but I just saw the new teaser for The Dark Knight and I got all excited and wanted to yak about it. First, link to the teaser...

I wish there was more footage but otherwise a great teaser! The Joker cackle at the end got me all giddy. I loved Batman Begins and this movie is so far my most anticipated for 2008. And my most anticipated this past year was Spidey 3 so I guess I just have a thing for sequels.  ;D I don't read the comics but I do enjoy the films.

I have a feeling that Heath Ledger is going to end up surprising everyone, even though I thought the casting did come a little out of left field. I am also uber-excitied that Aaron Eckhart is in this. The only problem I have is with Maggie Gyllenhaal in the film. Something about her just irks me. I think it's because she always looks and sounds a little smug (I liked her in Stranger than Fiction though). I wish they had cast Rachel McAdams instead like the rumor mill reported. She's a better actress and  it would be fun to have her and Cillian Murphy in a movie together again (rumor has it he's returning to the sequel, woo hoo!).

Anyway, just wanted to share with fellow Batman/movie fans. :)

I liked Batman Begins, but mostly because of Christian Bale. I've always liked the darker side of Batman (sans silly sidekick Robin). Christian Bale pulls off that darker side much better than all the other actors who played Batman. The trailer doesn't give much detail into what the sequel is about...? I couldn't stand Katie Holmes as the love interest (booring!)...I actually like that they picked Maggie (she's a great actress...her quirkiness is refreshing...she was great in Secretary). Who is Aaron Eckhart in this movie? (I like him, too...Thank You for Not Smoking was hilarious.) Is Gary Oldman the Joker?
