No matter what anyone says, there are plenty of agencies to protect and help people in hard times.
Humans can voluntarily SEEK help if they need it.
WHen humans are hungry, governments send food and money.  At least humans have their basic requirements met.

Animals have no one to speak for them, and very few organizations to help them.
When there's a choice between the two, I stand by the animals--they're in these situations through OUR fault so it's up
to the humans to do something about it.
