So, what's with "Tagged?"

I have recieved numerous invitations from friends to join Facebook, Myspace, Tuenti, Tagged and others. I never do that because I am allergic to networking websites (apart from VW of course). I have no desire to have my own webpage, partly because I would forget all about it, partly because I'm enough of a web addict as it is.
But lately I've gotten several messages from Tagged telling me that people have visited my profile there. Impossible. I don't have one! What is that about?

People act shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, when I say I'm not on Facebook. Then they spend the next 5 or 6 seconds trying to figure out how they could POSSIBLY contact me. I know, impossible. They'd have to send a telegram or smoke signals.
I have no idea what Tag is. Kind of sounds like a scam. I just had to share that, other than vegweb and e-mail, I don't use the interwebs much at all. I'm a 90 year old woman trapped in a 23 year old's body! :)
YG, I think it might be spam. I think sometimes they send these emails thinking that some people will just click on the link, thinking they had suscribed. That's what I think as well. I'm not a member of Tagged, and I did receive emails at some point.
As for social networking, part of my job is getting the news out there, in these days and age, I'm not sure how I could do that without FB or Twitter. In fact, my new job requires me to be the "Internet expert" in the office, so, I try everything at least once, to see what it is. :)
i quit FB several months ago.
best thing i ever did.
Tried to quit a year ago, it lasted two weeks. Then, I needed to use it for work, seriously.
Ironically, a few of us guy had been reprimanded for being too much on Facebook a few weeks before that. Funny how my boss insisted that I went back. Now, she's on Facebook, anyways. :)

I've also got emails ostensibly from a friend asking me to friend them, when said friend doesn't belong, either.

Fuck Facebook... I had a MySpace for a year maybe and deleted it... VegWeb is wayyy cooler! I dunno the whole thing was cool at first so you could find "old friends"... Obviously I don't talk to those people for a reason so why bother with the whole thing?

Run far far away! I made the mistake of clicking a link from "Tagged" many months ago & it seemed very spam-like. They even said I had messages waiting. Blah.
However, I do love FB & twitter. And vegweb of course!

Def sounds like a scam if you know you've got no profile there. Only thing I can think of is that your friends have joined it and put you as someone they'd like to be informed if you joined it...if that's possible. I honestly don't know.
I was dragged kicking and screaming into FB, as it's the only medium that my sisters & most of my other family members like to use to communicate with people. I seriously learned my neice was pregnant by FB. Otherwise, I don't use it much.
