Undercover TV....OMG!!!

I was just channel flipping and came across the end of the documentary "Earthlings" which I have not seen. It was on show called "Undercover TV" and it was on my local channel. I guess its on every week and it exposes different aspects of animal cruelty and is sponsered by In Defense of ANimals, and hosted by Vegan athlete Kevin Williams.
I can't believe they are showing this stuff on mainstream TV! I am so excited! The viewer comments on the website are very encouraging.....lots of people changing to vegetarianism after seeing an episode.
Check it out and see if its on in your area. I had NO idea!!!

of course, they are not shown around here... but youo can email them, get involved and drop off tapes to your local tv station.
im going to contact them and look into that!

So this was on again last night....this time some inside footage of slaughterhouses. Pigs, cows, veal farms, chickens, turkeys....I literally cried myself to sleep. :'( :'( I woke up all puffy-eyed and tired.
The worst part was that they put these baby chics in plastic bags to suffocate and die. They showed their faces close up trying to breathe.
I taped this show, but I am not sure what to do with it. I can't imagine anyone watching this and then eating meat. Even if you didn't feel sorry for the animals, the sheer disgusting and unclean conditions might make you think twice about what you are putting into your body (diseased, dirty, sickly animals).
But if I show it to anyone they will think I've gone off the deep end. HMMMMMM............
If you go to the site you can get info on getting this on in your area. this is certainly hard to watch and depressing, but it might spread the word :-\ I seriously can't believe this shit goes on.

Me too! I live in the "bible belt" right now ... and that kind of religious stuff is on ALL the time. They also, sometimes, cover same sex couples - praying for their "healing" naturally.
It's great this is getting exposure. I might have to call my local station too. Maybe if I put some sort of religious slant on it, they'll show it.
One more reason to move to Asheville - they show those kinds of shows on TV! I checked and it is not on my cable network... However, I did find a link where you can watch Earthlings online or even download it for your ipod (for free) and watch it there. I have not seen it yet, I think I need to really prepare myself before I see this sad movie. :-\ Here is the link:
