What DVD are you watching lately?

I have BBC's Persuasion on, but I can't really get into. I've heard thought that BBC's Sense & Sensibility is good. Of course I"ve watched the Ang Lee Emma Thompson version which is superb... I may get it this week to see  :P

I made it to 28 horror movies in October. : \ Sadly do not have time to watch 3 movies tomorrow.

I can't imagine watching 28 movies in 5 years, doing that in one month is crazy impressive!

I think I have watched 2 so far this year.

You've been busy saving the world, planting peas, eating chiles, baking 365 loaves of bread, 98 cakes, 54 loads of laundry, washing 65 floors, and cleaning 5 ovens all in 8 minutes!

quiet you, I know you do all that stuff too.

I think it just comes down to I'm a nana and I would rather go to bed early than watch a movie.  Also, we only own like, four, so not much choice!

eta: wish I did have 5 ovens, even if I had to clean them all!

I just watched Let Me In.  It was really good!  Kinda sweet and scary all at the same time.  And it was a Hammer Film; I didn't even know they were still making movies.

So true.  I'd be so much more productive if I didn't have a TV.

VeggyDog, have you seen Let the Right One In? How does it compare????

I think they are almost equal in terms of how much I liked them, but different in some ways. I guess I do prefer the original, because it had a creepier, mysterious factor.

Halloween III
I had no idea they did Halloween without MM. Nu uh. Not good..weird. 1/5

Halloween III doesn't have anything to do with Mike Meyers. They wanted to call it Halloween, but that was already taken, and there was a sequel to it so they called it Halloween III instead. Not even the same directors. It's pretty terrible, but awesomely corny. THREE MORE DAYS TILL HALLOWEEN! will forever be stuck in my head.

I have not.  I only found out this morning that Let Me In was a remake.

Fast Food Nation I didn't care for it at all.  All the factory scenes made me want to throw up.  I think they could have presented the subject matter better.

You're a Good Sport Charlie Brown.  I love anything with Snoopy and Woodstock :)

Peacock
I thought this was really good; my type of movie! It's not action packed, but good story, good acting, interesting. Psychological thriller type. 4/5

Outlander
Weird ass movie. Boring in parts. 2/5

Red Planet
Pretty good. There's nothing really wrong with it, but I didn't think it all came together totally. P liked it more. 3/5

Conviction.

Very good! And totally accurate to the actual story, from what I read.

Has anyone seen the film DUCK?

Currently watching a new BBC miniseries (3 hrs) of Sense and Sensibility. I know Andrew Davies is well thought of at the Beeb but cannibalising whole chunks of script from someone else's adaptation  is seriously bad form.
And I feel bad for the kid who plays Little Henry. Apparently his part consists of looking fat and unpleasant, and eating. I hope they gave him some lines, even if they did end up on the cutting-room floor.

Wrecked (2010)
I really wanted to like this, but really..didn't. I didn't dislike it because it's slow and mostly uneventful (which it is), but there was just nothing beyond that. I get what they were trying to do, but fell short for me. A lot of it also didn't make sense (why didn't he keep trying to get out? why didn't he try to walk??). Ending does not redeem. 2/5
