Spaghetti with Cheesy-Tahini Sauce

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    1/2 cup tahini
    3/4 Cups lemon juice
    1/3 cup water
    2 cloves garlic
    a splash of Braggs Liquid Aminos (or tamari)
    salt to taste
    nutritional yeast
    some pasta

Directions:

Mince garlic. Add Tahini, Garlic, Lemon Juice and water. Mix well (in a blender or food processor)

Cook pasta.

Add tahina sauce to pasta and garnish with nutritional yeast (to taste.)  Very good Smiley

Serves: 6

Preparation time: 10-15mins


I tried this one for dinner, and I appreciate how easy it is to make, but I have one complaint--there is *way* too much lemon juice in this one.  I'm sure if the amount was reduced, it would be much better.

This is a real nice recipe.  I have a few words of advice to those who try it.  1) If your using Lemon Juice from concentrate. (pre-squeezed, bought from a bottle) like many do, then you need to dilute it with water. About half or less of the amount of lemon juice. But remember to top it up with water so you keep the same over all amount of liquid.  2) If you add a 4OZ (113G) bottle or can of diced Pimientos to the Blender with this recipe you will get a nice CHEESE color and a over all more CHEESE like taste.  3) Dont skimp with the Nutritional Food yeast (NOT the same as vegan bread yeast). It gives alot of flavor.  4) More Tahini makes it thicker, more water makes it thinner 5) Use Whole Wheat Spaghetti Pasta it is better for you and fills you more! If your not use to in Mix it half and half with regular to start with. It soon will be a favorite!  PS. This sauce also makes a GREAT dipping sauce for corn chips!  ENJOY!

Though I reduced the amount of lemon juice as Vince suggested, nobody in my family was crazy about this meal. My kids prefer pasta tossed with Annies Goddess Dressing (which is also comprised of lemon and tahini).
