Awesome OatmealIngredients (use vegan versions): 2/3 cup organic oatmeal (not the quick cooking kind)
1.5C water
dash sea salt
1 bartlett pear, washed, cored and chopped coarsely
1/4C walnuts, coarsely chopped
3T organic maple syrup
Directions:Add salt to water and bring to a boil. When water is viigorously boiling, add oatmeal. Boil oatmeal briefly, then lower heat to simmer, and cover. Get in the shower. ( Make it snappy- there are others waiting) Get out of the shower. By the time you are dressed, the oatmeal will be perfect. Add the pears, walnuts, and maple syrup. If you are cooking for one, pack up the remaining portion for your at-work mid morning or mid afternoon snack. Itll keep you going and warm your heart if you have memories of your mom serving you oatmeal. :-}

really different...lots of ingenuity...I'll have to tell my mum about this one...ps...Is organic maple syrup easy to find? I come from Australia, and maple syrup here is hard to find

This is really good and quick. I've tried all sorts of combinations of fruits and nuts,you can be creative with what ever is on hand.
