I might sound ignorant, but does anyone know what kind of a place I can but soy cheese?

The only place I've seen it is at a Food Co-op, but watch out for Casein, wich is a milk protein.

You can go to
www.healthy-eating.com, they can send you a catalog, or you can buy online. They don't sell shreddable soy cheese, but I think that since the cheese in the recipe is going to melt anyway, you can use a spreadable soy cheese. You can also go on the Pangea web site (I think the address is pangeaveg.org or .com) and see what they have. Happy Hunting!

please excuse my ignorance but how do i broil something?

just preheat your oven to Broil, and then put the pizza in the oven (the broiler is on the top of the inside of the oven, and gets really hot, so make sure to watch whatever you broil because it can burn quickly!)

Please help. I have found several veggie cheese brands I like, but they all have casien. I tried to get away from them, but so far the only ones I have tried without casien taste nasty. Please advise me... where can I find a soy cheese without casien that tastes better than cardboard?

I agree with the last comment, most soy cheese without casein is disgusting so I just don't even go there. Would love to know if there is a good brand, though, because cheese is the one animal product that I do miss. Please advise!

An awesome vegan cheese is Vegan Gourmet Cheese Alternative from Follow Your Heart (the same company that makes Vegenaise, the best vegan mayonnaise). This vegan cheese comes in mozzarella, cheddar, nacho, and monterey jack, in 10oz blocks. Its completely vegan (no casein) and is shreddable. I've tried other vegan cheeses (Veganrella and a couple others), but this is the best! I first found the cheese online and then I asked my local health food store to stock it; now, they stock it regularly because everyone else loves it, too!!
