Banana Sandwich

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    1 banana
    Creamy Peanut Butter

Directions:

Serves: 1.

Preparation time: 5 minutes.

1. Slice the banana down the middle the long way.

2. Spread the peanut butter on one side.

3. Put the banana together like a sandwich.

4. Slice into bite-size pieces.

I know that this sounds kind of sick, but its really good!

this is good on vegan bread too, with raisens or carob (or chocolate) chips.  or with honey.  mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

This is also good if you mix soft butter with the peanut butter. And honey, if you like. Even maple syrup works, too!

For a little different taste, mash the bananas then mix in the peanut butter.  A staple at our house.

Tip....for just a slight behind the scene zing, put a little soya mayonaise on one slice of the vegan bread. Personally I like a bit more than a little....  Smiley

Bananas and Peanut Butter!  What an awesome combination.  I like it on Whole Wheat Bread too.

Ah, one of my favourites. This is an excellent food for me, because I need to get potassium and magnesium without getting iron. The iron level in my blood is nearly poisonous, but I very easily find myself low on potassium and magnesium. Thus, I very often combine bananas and peanut butter WITHOUT using vegan bread, because most healthy breads (like whole wheat) are loaded with iron.  In any case, I was glad to see this here. I thought I was the only strange person doing this [smirks]

And to Kathleen... honey is not vegan in many peoples opinions, and butter certainly is not vegan to anyone.

I mahed the banana and aded cinnamon...  and toasted it in the toaster-oven.  really good.

To Rumour, don't be so dogmatic.  Butter could refer to Earth Balance or another dairy free replacement.  With the honey, we all have a right to our choices, maybe that's where she gets her Vitamin B12 or maybe she's just different than you.  Its easy to be judgemental as a vegan because its so politically correct, but there's no need for correcting others lifestyle in a place that's simply meant to support people eating healthy.
