Indian Style Sandwich

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    3-4 potatoes
    1 onion
    ginger (an inch thick cut into small pieces)
    coriander leaves (
    half a green chili sliced about a couple of mm thick

Directions:

Boil potatoes, mash them, sautee onion.  After it becomes golden brown, add ginger, coriander leaves (cilantro) and green chili. Add a little bit of cayenne pepper if desired, use a bunch of coriander leaves coarsely chopped. cook for a while. Put this mixture between vegan bread slices and grill just like a grilled cheese sandwich.


Thank you, thank you for this recipe!!  I've heard from a friend of mine how delicious Indian potato sandwiches are, and I've never found a recipe.  Cant wait to try it!

This is the best sandwhich in the world.  Every one should try it.  It is easy to make and filling.  This is the best sandwhich.

This is a great traditional Indian recipe.  To add more nutritional value try substituting half the quanity of mashed potatoes with crushed firm tofu.  Tastes great and reduces carbs too.

 :)I thought this recipe was fabulous.  I fried the potato patties before I put them between bread, then I grilled the whole sandwich.  So good!
