Portobello Burgers

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

One portobello mushroom per burger, destemmed and cleaned
    Olive oil
    Crushe'd garlic
    Black pepper
Your favourite burger fixings (bun, vegan mustard, onions...)

Directions:

Crush as much garlic as you like into a tablespoon or two of olive oil, and grind in pepper to taste.  Brush this on top of each mushroom and broil them for a few minutes, or until they look done.  Slap onto a bun and go crazy with the fixings!

Preparation time: 15 mins

I like to broil portabellos on a cookie rack set over a catch pan and brush them with barbecue sauce, or fill the caps with onions and brush them with sesame oil

portabello burgres are a staple in my household, their thick, rich unique flavor is a big hit with all my meat eating family.  This is a must you can even have it just on tow slices of vegan bread with a bit of veganaise, i would not disguise the flavor with ketchup and mustard, its good with and without, i prefer without

We made these tonight for dinner and they were so good! We have a new favorite sandwich now! We ate ours on cracked-wheat buns with deli mustard, roma tomatoes, kosher dills, and butter lettuce. Absolutely delicious and just enough food to satisfy without stuffing.

Another good add-on for this burger meal, would be vegan-mozzarella cheese. It definitely adds some zesty flavor and texture.

i am a very simple eater, so all i added was mustard. it seems any condiment would compliment the flavor of these burgers.

these burgers are a healthy and delicious treat. it is rather inexpensive to make and the taste is superb!

I love putting these portobello patties onto a soyburger, it makes a delicious double-burger.
