1/2 pound white mushrooms, sliced 1/4" thick
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon hot sauce (I use Tobasco Sauce)
2-3 garlic cloves, sliced or chopped
1/2 onion, sliced in rings
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
cayenne pepper, to taste
1. In a large skillet, add all ingredients, cover, and bring to a boil (stirring occasionally).
2. Boil for about 5 minutes, uncover and let simmer until most of the water evaporates leaving a paste at the bottom of the pan.
3. Be sure to serve the dish in the cooking skillet so that you can wipe up the left over seasonings with the mushrooms and onion rings.
