5 slices of fresh bread
1 1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
oil to fry the bread slices
Cut the bread slices into half equally. In a pan, add water and sugar. Heat it till sugar melts completely. Heat the water and sugar till it becomes thick but not hard. To test it's thickness ,take a drop of sugar water in your finger tip and press it slightly. When you lift the finger you should see a single wire of that drop. Turn off the heat.
In the mean time, heat 3-4 teaspoon of oil in a skillet, and fry the bread to a golden brown color. When slices are done, put them in the prepared sugar water. Soak it completely.
Serve hot or cold by garnishing it with chopped almonds.
