3/4 cup onion, diced
3/4 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup carrots, chopped
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup mushrooms
3 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup texture vegitable protein (TVP)
1 cup multigrain bread crumbs
1/2 cup oats
1 - 14 ounce can black beans, rinsed
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheight and grease baking tray.
2) In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons water until bubbly and cook onions and garlic for a bit until softened. Add celery and carrots and and 1/4 cup more water and cook until tender. Add black beans and mushrooms, stir, and turn down heat. Blend mixture together.
2) Pour mixture into a large bowl and add all other ingredients. Season to liking with hot sauce and chlil powder, salt, and pepper. Form into balls the size of your palm and place on baking sheet, pressing down a bit to form patties. Bake for 15 minutes, flip and bake 10 more minutes.
3) Place on a bun and top with favorite burger toppings! Enjoy.
If you prefer crunchier burgers as these are pretty smooth in texture, add some chopped walnuts to the bowl before forming patties.
