2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I use safflower oil)
3 cups powdered sugar, divided
2 tablespoons vanilla
3 tablespoons hemp milk, divided (natural or vanilla flavor)
1. Add oil to bowl, then add 2 cups powdered sugar. Blend until fully mixed.
2. Add vanilla, and blend again. Add 2 tablespoons hemp milk, and blend again.
3. Continue adding remaining powdered sugar and hemp milk until desired consistency is reached.
Source of recipe: We recently took dairy out of our diet and our friend was coming over to celebrate her birthday, so I invented this recipe on the spot. Her 6-year old daughter confirmed this icing is indistinguishable from 'regular' cream-based frosting.
