8 ounces frozen green peas
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons nondairy butter
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1. In a small pot, add peas and water. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
2. Add the butter, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until all the liquid has evaporated.
3. Mash the peas when done cooking.
* Note: This is a quicky recipe. The traditional way to make mushy peas is to soak marrowfat peas overnight.
