Awesome Chocolate Cookies

What you need:

3/4 cup margarine
1 cup unrefined sugar
1 egg replacer (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=7678.0)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1/3-1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup vegan chips (peanut butter are awesome)

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix margarine and vegan sugar until creamy. Add egg replacer and vanilla.
2. In a separate bowl, blend flour, cocoa, soda, and baking powder. Add dry mixture to wet mixture and mix until everything is well blended.
3. Stir in the chips. Form balls and smash them down a little bit on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes until the tops are no longer gooey.
It's really important to use the purest, most unprocessed, organic ingredients you can find. It makes a huge difference in the way the cookies taste and the way they make you feel. These cookies are truly scrumptious! '

SO HOW'D IT GO?

It's like a cookie and a brownie had cute little chocolatey babies! These are so tender, but with a nice caramelized crunch on the edges. I will be using these to impress any omnivores I dine with in the future!

I'm not sure how this recipe has a 4/5.  The only way someone could not LOVE these cookies is if they hate chocolate and/or messed up the recipe.  These are phenomenal

These cookies are so addicting!  I decided to use 1/4c  canola oil and 1/2c applesauce plus an additional cup of flour like someone else had suggested instead of the margarine.  They turned out great!  Thanks for the recipe!  :)>>>

These turned out really well!! I used 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup reg white flour. I also substituted 1/2 c canola oil and 1/4 c unsweetened applesauce for the butter. I also drizzled white chocolate on the top! My non-veg friend said that these were incredibly delicious and were on her top 5 fav list!!  Thanks for the recipe! :)

Just made a batch, I was worried because the batter looked kind of dry. But man, when that margarine melts during baking you get the softest cookie! I don't care for chips in my chocolate cookies (yes, I am strange!!!) so I nixed them, and didn't have nuts either. Even without those things it was a fantastic cookie!
The turbinado sugar I used was too coarse, I'll have to grind it a bit next time as there were still some large crunchy crystals on the top. Still tasted great though! Thanks for the recipe!

These are amazing!!! Like little chewy discs of joy! My kids want to devour all of them. I used white whole wheat flour, used 1/2 cup earth balance and 1/4 cup apple sauce, I might use more apple sauce next time. I added the 1/2 cup of cocoa powder. They are delicious!!

mmm mmm mmm!  Best cookies I made this holiday season!  Used half a banana for egg- can slightly taste and that's ok with me for these!

Nomnomnomnomnom.
So goood.
I make this tons, they're known as the brownie cookies.
They do not have a cookie like consistency, but that is why i love them! Its like a cake, brownie, and cookie all rolled up into one! Tonight i put walnuts in them instead of chips, so good.
Tofu is my favorite egg replacer for them, also.

this recipe really didn't work for me. I had the same problem I usually do; they were crumbly and wouldn't stay together. I even had to result to adding a little canola oil and that still didn't help.

these were great - i doubled the recipe but then used half oil/half applesauce and when i rolled them into balls they felt kinda greasy so maybe next time id do even less oil.  since i used applesauce i used less sugar than called for and they sill turned out sweet enough.  instead of chocolate chips i chopped up some oreo style sandwich cookies that were vanilla cookie/strawberry creme filling and folded them into the dough.  i took them to multiple parties and everyone loved them.  they have a nice soft, chewy texture without being too cakey, i don't know if it made much of a difference but when i took them out of the oven i patted them down a little bit with the spatula so they wouldnt be too fluffy.
