The Best Marinated and Baked Tofu Recipe EVER!

What you need:

1 package extra firm tofu
1 cup mustard dressing
1/4 cup tamari
1 teaspoon hickory smoke flavoring
1 clove garlic minced finely
2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
freshly ground pepper

What you do:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice tofu to your liking. Mix all ingredients well. Dip tofu into the marinade. You can let it marinate for a little while if you like but its not necessary. Lay the tofu slices on a sprayed cookie sheet and grind pepper over the top of them. Bake for about 20 minutes turning about halfway through and baste with excess marinade. Tofu will bubble and brown when it is finished. This tofu is great on sandwiches and has a very egg-like taste. Enjoy!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

AMAZING!!! I made a three block batch and I didn't measure anything but used all the ingredients plus a little balsamic vinegar on accident ;-)  I used a Swedish style sweet mustard, not dressing and I used roasted garlic.  I lett it in the marinade for about an hour then baked.  Now I am ready for my camping trip.  These will be great in a pita with my homemade "from my head" roasted eggplant, onion, and garlic hummus.  I should try to figure out how much I use and write it down to share.

Thanks,

JJ
