Best Oat Cookies that Ever Existed

What you need:

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup plus 1 teaspoon oil
3 tablespoons water
1 banana, mashed
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups oats

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix the vegan sugars, oil, and water. Add the banana and vanilla. Separately, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Mix flour mixture and wet mixture. Stir in the oats. If it is too thin, let stand a bit so the oats can absorb the excess liquid. If too thick, add more water.
3. Drop them by tablespoon onto cookie sheet, and bake for 13 minutes. To check if they are done, flip one over and it should be browned. Check inside doneness.

Not that best as you say! I made them just yesterday. they were good but not the best. The oats were hard in the cookies! Next time I would recommend to soak for an hour! Also, the size of the tablespoon were too big and cookies were thick so I had to cook them longer! And I did put only brown sugar no other, because sounded way too much of sugar!

OMG. The batter was great Couldn't stop eating it. Just took first batch out of the Oven And I stopped counting but I think I hate six of them so far. I will be interested to see how they taste tomorrow assuming there are any left. I did follow a couple of other suggestions and I reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup I reduced the oil to 2 tablespoons and I increased the water to 4 tablespoons Plus I replaced mashed bananas with the 1/4 cup applesauce like many others did. I have only been vegan since August of this year And I have always prided myself on my cookie baking But I must say these equal anything I have made a perfect success.

Hey thanks for the recipe!, I liked these, I hate Banana though so I took it out and put in flaxmeal and maple syrup instead, I also threw in 1/4 of sesame seeds and only used 1/2 cup of brown sugar and the rest stevia. not bad at all.

This recipe was simple to make and worked well with substitutes. Instead of 1/4 cup of oil, I substituted half oil and half apple sauce. For the ripe banana, I used I ripe plantain. Sugar. I used white. Result? The cookies we moist, sweet and delicious. I did found it very sticky loading the cookies to the cookie sheet, but I used 2 spoons in place of a cookie schttp://vegweb.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/recipe/ima.... Thanks for the suggestions. It gave me great tasting cookies.

Ummmm, these were exactly what I was looking for.  I wanted a "cookie" that can be used as both a cookie and as breakfast.  I added a little bit of applesauce as well as the banana, and this was the first recipe using my brand new stand mixer I bought yesterday.  The mixer makes short work of making the dough!  I didn't even have to mash the banana, I just threw everthing in and pushed "on".  One minute later perfectly mixed cookie dough.  I added raisins too, I love raisins, so does my son.  These were  a real hit with him, and he is a pretty picky 3 year old.  He really enjoyed these with a cup of chocolate soymilk.  :)>>>

I wound up with 4 dozen cookies because I made them a little on the small side. I used some softened butter-flavoured Crisco for half the oil (because I'm low on oil) and applesauce instead of mashed banana, and they are SO YUMMY! They're a little crisper than I would've liked, but that's because I left them in the oven a couple of minutes longer than I should have. Still, they satisfied my craving for oatmeal cookies this weekend and I'll definitely be making these again. These cookies certainly live up to the name BEST OAT COOKIES THAT EVER EXISTED!

:)  Very simple to make and very tasty treat! I will definitely make again. Next time I will add more cinnamon because I really like a lot of that flavor.  But the recipe is very versatile you can add raisins and other spices.
